Solution Lineage OS No Sim

Hey,

Ok... so this error is still not fixed....
I tried so many things on my Note 3...
So : I installed LineageOS nightly 14.1 of 2018-03-15.. No SIM card no IMEI.
I download and installed N9005XXSGBQA1_N9005VFGGBOL2_SWC and BOUM it works !
But I want lineage OS... I copied libsec-ril.so and libsecril-client from this image and installed it on the lineage OS but not working...
My baseband is N9005XXUGBOJ2
Any idea ? What am I suppose to copy from the official samsung image to make it work ?

Oh, writing this, I saw that my baseband is different between the samsung image name and the baseband installed on lineage os... I will check this...

I went to your androidfilehost but there is a lot of file on modem folder (yeah, 5...)

Am I supposed to install CP_N9005XXUGBOJ1_REV03_CLLOCAL.tar.md5? But I already have Baseband GBOJ2 installed... So which file do I have to flash?

I tried 3 files : CP_N9005XXUGBOJ1_REV03_CLLOCAL.tar.md5, CP_N9005XXUGPQB1-Nordic and CP_N9005_OK6.tar... I flashed multiple times each files but my baseband never change and my problem is still the same... What am I doing wrong ?

Nordic is THE ONE, but remove battery before flashing...

I had this problem in previous versions, mostly solved by libsec..., but in this one nothing works.
Yes, I replaced libsec...
Yes, I flashed the GPQB1-Nordic, as well as this firmware-baseband N9005XXSGBQD5_N9005XXUGBPB1 (separately) following all of the instructions. I tried to go back to the working version, does not work.
Just for clarification, my modem info is changing after flashes, but it changes nothing.
Help me, I hate stock

And to do so, please make sure that you fully power-off your phone and then boot directly into download mode by holding Vol-DN+Home+Power. If you reboot into bootloader/download any other way then the flash is not likely to take.

Library file change still works

Just download the file libsec-ril.so
Rename it as libsec-ril.gsm.so
Locate with root explorer or similar the file in your note 3 in :
Root/vendor/system/lib/libsec-ril.gsm.so
And rename it as libsec-ril.gsm.so.old or however you want. You will need writting permissions to do that.
Copy your previously download file you rename before and copy to the place.
Immediately you will get sim working on.

FILe is right . Location and file name was my problem and that solved it.

Thanks to all for this thread, especialy the OP - it got me going last year when I moved to LOS.
Just decided to update to the latest nightly and had forgotten all about the SIM wrinkle until the problem recurred. I didnt have a PC with me at the time so was very happy to find xponente had modified the method to match the current library structure; the solution worked for me on baseband XXUGBOJ1

My LTE seems fine but I will take what sounds like good advice and update the baseband next time.

libsec-ril.so did not solved my SIM problem, but installing a the nordic Modem/baseband fixed it. I'm with a German provider O2, although it shouldn't matter which country.

I resolved my problem with "no sim" flashing "N9005_Nordic_XXUGPQB1-Modem_XXSGBQD1-Bootloader.tar.md5" with odin.

The libsec-ril.so fix doesn't work since the file doesn't exist on new lineage builds. I can't update my bl/ modem because it'll break my sim unlock. Is there another way?

Actually this solution long times ago at early times LOS changing libsec of course now not working if using 1 year ago solution.

But I think need to update this because too many posts and views and still got post last month.
And I believe not everyone have PC to update their firmware or don't want update firmware.

I late reply because I not active in XDA and note 3 not my main phone, yeah already 1 years, forgot to check this forum.

Actually LOS just changing file location and name.
Just download that file in google drive put in this location, rename and replace.

Install of Lineage OS on SM-N9005 : SIM card not detected

Hello,
Can anybody tell me if this bug has been corrected in the last versions of Lineage OS ?
I keep having a non-detection of my SIM card and I can't understand why. It is detected on the stock ROM and not on Lineage OS. I also tried to install AOKP but the problem remains the same. No SIM card.

It's basic, libsec-ril.so is for sim card.
If your sim card is working before download Lineage OS you simply no need to download baseband/upgrade modem.

1.Need Root device
Example Magisk, SuperSU

2.Need Root File Manager
Example Root Explorer

3.Replace this file
Root/System/Lib/libsec-ril.so

0.How to get working sim card libsec-ril.so ?
-Find Lineage OS previous version that can make your sim card exist in your phone.
-Flash rom to that old version.
-Go to Root/System/Lib/ and backup libsec-ril.so
-Flash rom to new version and go to step 3 to replace file
-Turn Airplane mode on off, if not working reboot.

Ugh... how is it possible that sim card/network is working fine and suddenly it stops working?? What kind of bug is that in Lineage OS? I have OS 16... does the modem files get corrupted or what??? How can I fix sim card? Sometimes it detects it and sometimes it completely doesn't... even though when it detects it, it doesn't connect to services... and I know it is a working sim... so how can I fix this? Where can I get the latest modem files for Note 3?
