SOLUTION: SD Card mounts as read only

I was trying to flash a new rom on my wives Eris and my sdcard would not allow me to write to sdcard, tried to mount while phone running, also using recovery USB toggle. When I tried to push with adb it worked but file wasn't there. Tried to change permission with Ubuntu but didn't work. Any suggestions?

I'll be trying that tmrw, to tired and to pissed off at my stupid dog to deal with her cell phone case right now, thanks.

EDIT: For future reference to any that may have this problem, popping out and back in didn't work. I had to copy and paste all files off of the card and repartition it using recovery. Working fine now.
