I did mate... I figured it our before the post from the thread creator. The only thing I can do to my device is change the desktop background and with it changes the lockscreen background even if I say only to desktop. The icons/themes say that apply but it stays the same.

I've had this issue but managed to solve it. From the full B133 rom, extract the userdata.img file and flash with the phone is fastboot mode using this command: fastboot flash userdata userdata.img

I did that yesterday but didn't work. I will try again flashing the whole b133 rom from another thread jbmc83 pointed out.
When I extracted the files I found 2 userdata.img files, did you use the larger 400(and something)MB file? That is the correct one, not the smaller file.

Hm not sure. Will check when i get back home...

PS You were correct. The rom I flashed yesterday had 150 mb userdata while the one I flashed today had 400+. This was the problem! Thank you very much all guys! I have a fully functioning L29 now!

Hi all

I want to share how to apply themes after downloaded.Anyone who unlock bootloader + rooted, then can't apply themes from themes manager, please following step by step below.

1. Download hw_init.zip > https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24421527759882525
2. Unzip hw_init.zip
3. Copy folder hw_init to /data/hw_init
4. Reboot
5. Apply themes
6. Enjoy :)

Without root you can't access the system partition. If ur on an international rom, u can try to flash userdata from B133 rom with fastboot, then you have working themes

Huawei Mate 8 B152 with Tapatalk
i tried the user data flashing but it dosent work delorian.

Same here, only the included themes in the zip are visible, downloaded/own themes still completely invisible :good:

so i figured this out
:D

the reason that only system themes are available for me is that in the (hw_init) folder provided in First post has only 6 system themes available and so only these themes can be applied (Although Other themes can be viewed and downloaded but they won't be applied)

if you want other themes to work as well here is what you gotta do ...

Download the hw_init zip file from first post and unzip it (Download link in the post#1)

first of all download any themes you like . you can get almost every theme from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/themes-apps/themes-t3312560
and you can find other themes through out web or in Themes and apps section of Forum
once you done that ...

go to the hw_init folder that you downloaded
go into system and then themes folder and copy all your downloaded themes (only the files with .hwt format) into this folder

now your hw_init folder is ready

the rest you can do according to the instruction in the first post witch is ...
Copy folder hw_init to /data
Reboot
Apply themes
Enjoy

don't forget to push Thanks!

This is no fix. You can simply download a theme and push it to /system/themes right away. That is not the issue :rolleyes:

"We" need a fix that after applying allows themes to be seen on the internal SD card. At least, that is what I assume.

Hi all,

I have other way to fix problem.

You can download update_data_full_hw_spcseas from link below and flash via TWRP : . Enjoy

B170
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...ll/hw/spcseas/update_data_full_hw_spcseas.zip

B180
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...ll/hw/spcseas/update_data_full_hw_spcseas.zip

or you can file from other download link of your firmware such as

My download link C636B180
put filelist.xml instead of update.zip

then focus on venderinfo

<vendorInfo name="common" subpath="" logfile="changelog.xml" package="update.zip"/>
<vendorInfo name="hw/normal" subpath="hw/normal" logfile="changelog_hw_normal.xml" incrementdatafile="" fulldatafile="update_data_full_hw_normal.zip"/>
<vendorInfo name="hw/spcseas" subpath="hw/spcseas" logfile="changelog_hw_spcseas.xml" incrementdatafile="" fulldatafile="update_data_full_hw_spcseas.zip"/>
and put vendorInfo name after /full (you can checking vender info from dial *#*#2846579#*#* > Network information Query>vender country info)
if you can't find it you can choose one of them.

then put fulldatafile after vendorInfo name

:)
