[Solved] Google Maps 6.10.0 causing phone restarts

I just uninstalled the updates for the maps app and it was fine after that.

Same issue for me. Running Open Sensation. Updated a couple days ago, haven't tried using Maps app until today and it would reboot my phone after about 30 seconds of use. Sucked cause I was trying to get somewhere, too :-\

I want to confirm that the method of uninstalling the maps app with a root uninstaller, even if your maps app isn't a system app, works. Just get rid of it and then reinstall it directly from Google Play, updated and all, and it will work. At least it did for me.

I want to confirm that it did not work for me [HTC Holiday/Vivid - Miui 2.7.27]... fully removed and confirmed no user or system app existed for maps. re-install from market, and on first open got reboot.

Elegancia Blitz 2.7 and it keeps crashing too. Not just maps, but the launcher restarts, annoying. Hopefully an update to fix the issues comes out soon.

after today's update of Google Maps to version 6.10.0 I'm facing lot of restarts when using of this great and essential application. Also found that other people has the same and all has been using it on HTC Sensation.

Any solution already found ?

Sorry if someone already mentioned it but it also happens on EVO 3D running CM9. Could it be a chipset related problem?

Hmm tried a fix permissons it helped for 20 mins i was able to use navigation, then it did a reboot

zooming in at maximum, moving the map and few mins after the phone restarts.
moved to older one : "fixed"

I can confirm reverting back to the previous version works without any problems for the time-being.

I too am having this issue on my HTC sensation running CM9 stable. I thought this was going to be an issue with the rom but hopefully not!

Rebooting only occurs when using navigation. General browsing of the map is OK.

One issue though is that Google maps never finds my location - does anyone else have this issue? Its weird because navigation works fine (for about a minute and then reboots!)

Geolocation causes a reboot the first time, but the second time it works, even though for only 2 minutes before rebooting again.

Cool, I reverted back but dont understand why it keeps goin back to the bad update. In the play store its not checked off the update automatically. I use my nav daily and can't now....

Facing Same problem on HTC Sensation XE with Stock ICS 4.0.3 with Sense 3.6
