That...might have been a good idea. Silly me. Thanks! I'll give it a try.
If you then still get this error then you need remove your Google account from device (delete). Reboot. And add same account again. Reboot. Now try PlayStore. With this you dont loose any your information if you before backed up to Google account. If you need i can give complete step by step instruction.

Where do I get the Nook HD+ specific Gapps for CM10?

Go to goo.im. It needs gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip. It is the same version for all CM10s.

In that case, I still have the issue. I already tried one of the gapps-jb from goo. Would a package with a different release date not work?

Certainly. Try this, which one noted leapinlar - gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
If still have problems, then i know what to do. Of course, if you attempted google account remove too.

That is right. Any newer than 20121011 is meant for CM10.1 and will not work on CM10.

try reflashing google play for android 4.1
its best to get the ones from the gapps wiki
make sure its the one that supports android 4.1 and 4.1.1 and 4.1.2, not the ones that support 4.2 or 4.2.1

Thanks. That is exactly what I did after leapinlar told me to use the 101112 Gapps. I was using a newer one which was built for 4.1. Thanks anyway, though.
