I have run into three specific places in Lollipop where the "OK" button will not respond, only "Cancel". This prevents me from utilizing several services and apps.
I'm using a Moto X 1st Gen from Verizon running stock, OTA-upgraded Lollipop.
Scenario 1: install the Texpand app.
Texpand prompts me to enable it in "Accessibility" in Settings. I go into Settings, tap Accessibility, tap Texpand, tap "OK" and nothing happens. Only ht "Cancel" button is enabled.
Scenario 2: Install .apk manually
I have “Unknown sources” enabled in Security, but when I try to manually install an .apk file, the "OK button doesn't respond, only the "Cancel" button.
Scenario 2: Setting up a VPN
When I try to enable a VPN service, the "OK" button doesn't respond, only the "Cancel" button.
Any other Moto X 1st gen users run into this?
Jim
SOLVED!!
I have the app Lux Auto Brightness installed. This app (and other similar screen dimming apps) uses an "overlay" to dim the screen. Apparently, Android prevents overlay apps from spoofing system OK buttons (like placing a malicious "Install" button over a real "Cancel" button, and the like.) I temporarily disabled Lux, and everything worked as expected.
