[NOTICE: see the last post for solution]

hi to all developers and gamers all over the world
its very very nice to have a pc hardware on xda. thanks.

guys i have a problem. recently i bought a second hand ddr3 ram (gskill sniper, 1600mhz) for a 1333mhz capable mainboard.
the thing is that when i insert the new ram into mobo it starts fine, but when booting to windows i get bsod's of 0x19, 0x7E, 0x01 and one more, i forget (edit: its 0x1a). i cant even get it into windows memory diagnostic or memtest86+ and i cant boot anything. but when i insert old ram (1333), the computer's working fine.
any help appreciated.
have a nice day.

I had broken ram in my PC a while ago.
The higher requency shouldn't be a problem, just don't overclock it.( try underclocking it)

What motherboard are you using?
im not overclocking anything
it is an asboard h55 mobile with intel core i5-520m
i discovered that i can send it back and have a refund, so that is also an option.
thanks for reply, cya

I'd definitely look at RMA or returns, especially if the other memory is working fine.
If neither is working and you're still seeing artifacts (those black spots) that suggests it might be the motherboard or CPU.

ok, so i just made a test run with all drives unplugged, and the issue presists. my conclusion is that mobo is incompatible and i should return it. whats your opinion guys?

edit: ive already sent it for refund. i will continue this thread as i will buy another stick, thanks to every one who helped me. stay tuned:good:

Would agree. If you still have issues with whatever you choose to replace it with, let us know!

okay, well, i got a new ram, everything seems fine with memtest.

if your RAM doesn't work for you, you'd better return it right away and buy another one.

Edit: if you installed a 2.nd identical module and system does not boot, you might need to clear cmos.

thanks for everyone involved.
