Hi, can't find out much information, but does the SD card slot have USB 3.0 speed or USB 2.0 speed, cheap chinese devices use USB 2.0 and it's rather slow.

HiSilicon, a subsidiary of Huawei, mass produced these boards.

A design diagram can be found here:

https://en.alpha-star.org/docs/hardware-development-for-hikey960/hi3660-user-manual

Per 1.1.2 Interface Features, on Page 2-3, the MediaPad, regardless of its variants, utilizes SD 3.0 or SD 2.0 standards.

So, ideally, it should support up to 2 terabytes of storage and read/write speeds up to 50 megabytes. That is a rough estimate as I didn't breakdown the actual bus speed per parallel lanes but I'm positive it should be fast enough to meet everyone's needs. :)

thanks, i didn't mean SD standard, but rather the speed of the slot, but like you said if they mention SD3.0 then surely it can attain speeds above the ~30MB/s USB2.0 ceiling :)

Yes, that is what I meant; SD Slot speed. Upwards of 50 megabytes.

That is all dependent on what type of card you'll be utilizing.

Class 10 isn't going to be anywhere as fast as UHS-1 and neither will achieve the benefits of V Class.

Mine has shipped already so when I get mine in hand, I'll test whatever cards I have and post results as a reference.
