[SOLVED] Solution for Emergency Calls Only for 4.3 ROMS

Insert another sim - the same problem.
Today I tried again: full wipe + Phoenix 16.0 + Phoenix 16.7 OTA update + init.d_script-need-test.zip + Patched MJ9, reboot - no effect, "sim is absent"

Apparently your phone is unable to read simcards, is another issue different than not registered network because sim absent is not related to network/IMEI issues.
Try flashing a stock firmware using Odin from a pc.
If the issue still there maybe need to go sat

Flashed Android Revolutaion 20.1 all is fine. But Note 3 fetaures are absent. It seems, that N3 features caused problem with sim-card.

You can follow this solution to fix the "Emergency Calls Only" problem for those suffering from this after upgrading to 4.3 ROMS. Note this is if you have a VALID IMEI number, but are still getting Emergency Calls Only!

If you have an invalid IMEI number\Baseband problem then you need to restore a backup of your /efs folder to resolve that (follow other threads that detail how to resolve that issue)

You can safely upgrade to any 4.3 ROM now by following this solution (ORIGINAL THREAD HERE!!!)

Download the patched MK4 kernel from here:

Next download the modem (MJ9 modem patched by johnyp):

Copy these 2 files to your sdcard. Reboot to recovery and then flash the kernel then the modem and reboot, and you will no longer have the emergency calls only!

Remember this is for 4.3 ROMS only!

Note you can download the modem patcher here! This will allow you to patch modem.bin files for a modem of your choice also. Then just update the modem zip file by replacing the modem.bin with your patched modem.bin

people with running 4.3 dn3 try this process

after tryng various modems and kernels none helped though i recovered my imei with mk1 modem

then tried modem changer v4.0 it didnt work either none of the modems worked

and flashed this modem (MJ9 modem patched by johnyp):

and VOILA IT WORKED

Hello

I will explain whats hapen, for someone trying to help me

I´m always use Original software, but when i upgrade to 4.3, my phone have only emergency calls ( with IMEI).
The only away to fix thise was flash DN3 v.3.0 rom and after that flash patched MK4 kernel and modem (MJ9 modem patched by johnyp) (thanks to Zuluman) and works great.

Now i trying to update DN3 Rom v3.2 and do the same steps, i have 3G and network but can´t turn on my wifi, if i don´t flash patched MK4 kernel and modem MJ9 patched i have only emergency calls with wifi.....

Can anyone help me

go to system folder, long press on lkm_sec_info file and select copy, choose destination and paste.
After that upgrade to 3.2 and replace lkm_sec_info on system folder with the copy, after that long press, permissions and select rw-, r--, r--..."

1- Install DN3 3.0
2- Install Root Browser
3- Use Root browser, navigate to System folder, long press "lkm_sec_info" and select copy
4- Paste copied file on your SDcard
5- Install DN3 3.2 rom
6- Install Root Browser
7- Navigate to your SDCard, long press lkm_sec_info and select copy
8- Navigate to system folder and paste copied file
9- Long press lkm_sec_info, select "Permissions" and ser Read and write on first line, and read on second and third line
10- Reboot recovery, install patched modem and init.d script, reboot
11- at this step your network must be back and your wifi must work fine, if not, repeat step 7, 8 and 9 and reboot.

I want to switch to another network, Globe. I dont have any network. It says Emergency Calls Only.
I tried to use Mobile Data, to my surprise I can browse the web.

I tried to install the Patch Kernel MK9 by Zuluman then tried the patch Modem MJ5.
After rebooting, my imei became null/null and No service.
I install the stock modem MJ5. then goes back my IMEI.

I was wondering the same but the phone is international and bought at a Samsung concept store.
Do you think that the network Globe lock my IMEI?

Only a sat can lock the phone, if you bought on Samsung store must be unlocked

I've no idea how to downgrade because I never go back. Search the forum for a guide to do that.
