EDIT: Solved; I found THIS THREAD with a flashable mod; listed for and tested on OnePlus 2 running CyanogenMod; for anyone interested, I just flashed it with TWRP to edgarf28's XtreStoLite 3.3.1 FINAL running Chrome from Google Play (as at 2017-07-12), and it worked perfectly. I how have a home button, and the homepage can be set.

I've just flashed a stripped-out ROM to my S6, and it's like a new phone - so much faster, and with the tweaks it's like it's suddenly higher spec! With Chrome installed from Play, it doesn't have a homepage setting or 'home' button. I might be imagining the button, but I know I was able to set 'plain' Google as my homepage (I like to tidy-up the browser when I've finished with it - close tabs, and open a new one, ideally to Google - without all the suggestion/recent tiles and all the other junk).
If anyone's got (or could dump) an APK or flashable zip of Chrome in which the homepage can be set; and ideally (but less important) a 'home' button on the nav bar, I'd be very grateful for a copy!
