EDIT. Simply upload this new qwerty.kl file to /system/lib/keylayout and everything works great! Thanks goes to Zalez for posting the file first!

I haven't seen much talk on this topic recently and I would really like to get this feature running. Does anyone know why this would not be working? I am using a non stock overclocked kernal, maybe this could be a problem? Any help would be appreciated!
The other posts say /system/usr/keylayout/. Did you make a typo?

I made an update.zip for it, try it out and let me know.

Trackball unlock setting works now with CM6... :)

Thanks!
touchpro247, thanks for the zip file. I have the latest CM6 (with GPS etc) and trackball wakes up the phone already (though I have to keep it pushed for a sec or two). Will this update.zip change anything or make it faster?

This doesn't keep the phone from sleeping like other versions i've seen correct?

works for me but i never maid a backup so i hope i wont need it lol :)
Probably don't need a backup. The only difference between the two qwerty.kl's is one line entry.

Original qwerty.kl has:
Code:
key 232 DPAD_CENTER WAKE_DROPPED
New qwerty.kl has:
Code:
key 272 DPAD_CENTER WAKE
What I don't understand is that the original file is calling DPAD_CENTER key 232 when its actually 272. Why is this? Did they [HTC] do this on purpose?

If you have latest backup, then try it. It works faster for me.

This is how it is in templates that I have found. I'm guessing they used a template and since the dpad_center was never meant to wake the incredible, they didn't change it?? This is just a guess :)

Is the qwerty.zip the update.zip? also do i have to change it to update.zip and or mount the system in recovery?

First off thanks to the OP and Dev....Works great!

Does anyone know if this would work on the HTC Aria?
If you pull the qwerty.kl file from the Aria, I would be more than happy to poke around in it for you. I would think if you used this file, some key mappings may get screwed up.

qwerty.zip is the file just zipped. update.zip is the file zipped with the path needed so the phone can just install the update. I would recommend using the update.zip and recovery to install it.

When I get home later I will grab my girlfriends phone and get it to you. One thing first...I'm a little new to this stuff can you tell me the commands?

Thanks!
