(SOLVED/WORKAROUND) No Wifi on Stock roms - Works on LineageOS

I wanted to gift my U11 to the younger brother of my SO.
The thing is, he uses the 3.5mm audio a LOT, as such I wanted to load it up with a rom with working USB-C to 3.5mm adapter.
Since this seems to be a bit of a hit and miss situation with LineageOS (which I was running previosuly) I decided to go with Leedroid.
After flashing I get to the initial setup and the rom doesn't detect any Wifi networks..
Thought it might have something to do with DSP or Radio and thus I used the ARUWizard to flash a complete stock rom, with all partitions (basically RUU?), but even then, no Wifi networks!
When I went back to LineageOS it instantly came up with the Wifi networks, as such I don't think hardware is the issue, but more likely Some part of the firmware.
Has anyone encountered this, any ideas to solve this?

Solution/Workaround:
For me the solution/workaround was to flash a Nougat RUU, then flash the Oreo Radio+DSP and an Oreo based stock ROM (Leedroid, but I guess every Oreo based stock rom should work)

I have this similar issues too..i use forced downgrade by ziand to downgrade pie to oreo..it work just fine but wifi not work for me

Seems the suggestion you posted in the thread (disable random mac under LOS) doesn't make a difference under a stock rom.
What I did was flash LOS, enable wifi, select the "use device MAC" option.
Then after connecting to the network I rebooted to TWRP here I chose to wipe data, cache and dalvik/ART cache, and then I fashed the stock based rom.
After a reboot I still got no Wifi networks during the phone setup.
Maybe I misunderstood the steps needed to perform?

If changing mac address does work it needed nougat ruu?There's no nougat ruu for my htc u11 telstra :|

It seems that way.. flash nougat ruu, then oreo ruu, then oreo Rom..
I'll see if I have time to test this

Tested this..
Flashed Nougat RUU and Wifi works
Afterwards I flashed a stock based Oreo rom (leedroid) flashed the Oreo Radio + DSP, and wifi works =D!

How about we flash pie ota after downgraded to oreo ? Because only wifi not work..if we use mobile data to flash pie ota maybe wifi turn out work just fine...I think it gonna work..i'll try if i have some time

i have the same problem what is the solution.wifi won't turn on in stock ruu oreo and leedroid rom. my device is in oreo stock os 2.42.400.3 which patch I need to install.

Yes it does not work..the only solution for me downgrade to nougat

Use htc dev info tool..find ruu according to your cid
and mid..change version to nougat and flash ruu through sd card..in case if there's no ruu for your cid just change cid using htc dev info tool to ruu cid u downloaded..sorry my bad english ?

Do we need to flash hosd_signed? . will i just flash nougat ruu. My English is bad too
