Hey guys,
I'm considering buying a gnex from Amazon stores, but only if I'm sure I'll be able to instantly upgrade to JB.
But after reading some posts on this forum - some users seem to not have KB?
I have even seen a thread titled "to those lucky enough to have jb...".

So, what's the story, and is buying from amazon worth it?

Cheers,
Zero

Are you able to buy from the Google Play Store? That's where I got mine. I had JB with in 10 mins of opening the box.

Pretty sure Play Store is only available to the US.

But as the other user said, Flash Takju (efrant has a great guide available) and you'll be able to pull the update straight away.

Questions you may have:
You can keep the bootloader locked...
No need to have custom anything on the phone. Or "root" it. Your phone will be exactly the same as if you bought it directly from Google.
And since the device will be brand new, you're not going to be losing any data.
From this point forward you'll always receive updates directly from Google. AKA as soon as they're available.

Get it from the play store or wherever you get it from, flash the takju factory image and youll get JB straight away

Was it available as OTA update or it came with JB pre-installed ? I live in India and getting this phone from US play store through a friend. He has already received but it did not come with JB. It has ICS also the model number says galaxy nexus (no I9250) , is it same as GT-I9250 ?
