Guys, sony seems to be really pushing development and supporting it a lot here in the community as well. Not sure how many read this article, really interesting:

An Official Alpha Release WITH Kernel Source? Who Does This Sort of Thing? : http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...th-kernel-source-who-does-this-sort-of-thing/
That's really great of Sony, but shouldn't this really be an alpha of 4.2.1 at this stage? Samsung already released their official 4.1.2 and are now working on bringing 4.2.1 to our phones. Not really sure whether this qualifies Sony as a "terrific" OEM.

Well, not any hard evidence, no, but why would they not be?
sony takes tad bit more time for sure, but atleast they dont release softwares in hurry with massive bugs like bricking isssues, and security exploits etc. etc and then release more updates after that to fix those
and also samsung released half done sources..

sony takes slight more time, but never has those issues. they release alpha builds and also sources along with that, which is fantastic!
sony is catching up for sure.. :)

Yup. Seriously, I'll take Sony's well-polished ICS over Samsung's half-assed cobbled together JB 4.1 any day of the week.

Xperia T was the longest I've lasted with stock on any phone in quite some time, despite the fact that it was running ICS when every other device I owned and still used was running CM10.1...

SEMC/Sony ROMs have always been well polished and very stable... i have used them on Xperia X10 (QSD8250) -> Xperia Arc (MSM8255) -> Xperia S (MSM8260) -> Xperia T (MSM8960) and they just keep getting better :)

their GB ROM was ROCK solid...
