Live View is cheap but it's really low quality :(. It is great as toy but not the best as watch :D. Sony ericsson's engineers have some really bad ideas like that you must pull it from mounting every time you want to plug it to charger. Mounting is really bad quality and I have to glued it one time. For now it works. Issues with connection are only on not se/sony roms. For example: when I'm using it with stock cm7 on my x8 sometimes it disconnect but on stock 2.1 or semc debrand engine rom it never disconnect.

Can you turn the LiveView's bluetooth off? Thinking of getting one, but don't need it connected all the time.
I read that it doesn't show the time if it isn't paired, but it was an old review. Has this been fixed?

Would appreciate a reply, there's an offer that ends in a few days :good:

Anyone with a Note 2 using a LiveView? :D

You'd need to sync it once at least, then disconnect it. Not very elegant, but more or less works

Thanks!
Btw, does the bluetooth turn off after disconnecting? or does it stay on until you pair again?
Ummm as far as I know there's no way to turn of Bluetooth on the watch (so it stays on till you pair it again).

All Bluetooth connection is handled by the phone. You can only turn the watch on or off.

Last I read, they still hadn't fixed anything. Mine has been sitting in a drawer for months. I went to an ipod nano with a watch strap and then moved to a Motoactv about a month ago. If you have 25 bucks to spend on 30 minutes of happiness and then 2 days of frustration, go for it. My room mate has the smartwatch and has been quite happy with it. I personally needed something bigger with more capability. Just give it a few more months and the market is going to explode with these things.

For $20 I am playing with it, but I have to say it's got to be one of the worst designed products ever to be released by Sony.

You can't plug in the charger when it's in the watch band, and it's hard to get it out of the band. The plastic clips won't last if you're taking it out and putting it back in the band on a daily basis to charge. What were they thinking . . .????

I ended up using the clip and cutting half-way through the band so that the clip could slip in to the band. But it was constantly popping out because there is no back plate and any twist knocks it out. It would have been lost in no time if I didn't do something to keep it from popping out. So now I'm using the clip with some strong double-sided to keep it from popping out of the band. Really, whoever designed the band gets my nomination for idiot of the year award. Again, what was Sony thinking ???

Second problem is that there is no way to change the basic watch display. I have a hard time remembering what day it is, and really like a day on my watch. No can do. The display also won't rotate when you're using a clip. There is a free add-on with the day, but when you're away from the phone it crashes (unlike the main phone screen), so it's a poor solution. It's also cumbersome to have to scroll so much to get to the add ons.

It regularly loses its bluetooth connection, which can be a real problem when you're depending on it for calendar and gmail reminders.

There is no way to scroll through calendar appointments. This would be a killer app for the watch, but is not available. Apparently there was an add-on, but it doesn't work with my ICS phone (or later), so not much help.

Touch screen controls are finicky - sometimes they work ok, but in general are not very good. Multiple presses to get it to do what you want it to do.

Overall, incredibly bad design for watch charging, requiring you to hack together another solution, weak functionality, and probably no future support from Sony. A great gadget it's not, but maybe fun to play with. Incredible that sony would release such a flawed product. The project to replace the Sony phone connection software gives me hope, but we'll have to wait and see if it ever supports a calendar add on.

I must say I'm a bit surprised at Sony's effort in this smartwatch, I keep seeing much negative user experience, these problems seem to be very basic, perhaps just a bad processor? (can't keep up with the needs of the tasks)
