The HTC One reviews are coming in and I am not that impressed. The Galaxy S IV clearly isn't gonna cut it if you want a major change from the plasticky build and oversaturated AMOLED screen. LG devices are super boring. That leaves Sony. We know you have IPS screens and can make them. We know you put them on your Japanese variant of the Xperia Z. Your phones have a history of terrible viewing angles with failing contrast and colors just from the slightest tilt and the black levels are horrible. We do know, however, that you can solve all these problems and give pepole who have taken the great IPS displays on phones like the iPhone, One X, and Optimus G for granted a reason to switch over. It's not too late. Companies switch panels all the time. Apparently early adopters are diehard Sony fans who don't care about image quality, but if you want to break beyond the niche and into the mainstream to play with the big boys, you need to step it up. IPS!IPS! IPS! IPS! IPS! IPS! IPS! IPS!

Yes they should, but not so soon man... Otherwise I'll have a major case of buyer's remorse. :)

It already IS an IPS panel, genius.

There are many IPs technologies and manufacturing techniques. Did you know, for example, that most desktop IPS displays are made by LG, while on mobile it's Sharp? The Z uses a Sharp IPS panel btw...

LOL - let's put it this way - "Please give us a BETTER IPS display, Sony" :p

I mean seriously, the display on XZ is great. Heck the good old Arc/Arc S have excellent displays too. But TL display has lower contrast than Arc S. I'm not quite sure if it's an calibration issue or Sony is not paying attention to display qualities lately.

However, Sony can easily put an IPS with better viewing angle if they want to. It's not a big deal for most users but it's important for scoring good reviews which is sort of important for Sony at this moment. You know when a moron like Vlad (the verge idiot who reviewed XZ) makes fun of XZ display, you'd feel that Sony should shove some displays with good viewing angle onto their phones and up those idiots' ass as well.

Turn off the sound if you want, cuz it in Vietnamese
The LG IPS Panel get really dark when trying Extreme Viewing Angle, for the XZ, it get really Bright
This Video also show you the Differences when BE2 is On/Off
When its On = saturated colors like the G Pro
Off = More detail like the Oppo 5

I'm sure Sony did not think of this and will, after reading this thread, immediately call back all devices and replace the screen with a better one... :silly:
