My experience with this phone is that Sony half ass made it as well as other Xperia devices starting with Z3. What I mean is that they go 90 yards and stop at the 10 yard line by limiting certaain things to squeeze out as much money as they can with devious methods.. This is one method they get more money from these devices:
Sony loves to advertise the nice parts of the phone as being so good that you really need it. For example, the Clear Audio+ and EQ and other sound settings. Oddly they DO NOT WORK on 99% of the apps. Also to get the highest res audio out of the phone you would need to connect it to a USB Dac! WHo does that? Nobody! To explain things a bit better about the situation, the sound settings that are in the sound menu should, and when I say should I mean, logically speaking, they should change the sound globally, on any app, even the stereo speakers! I had A Xperia Z1s and remembered Kitkat. I could play anything and the sound settings were global. Not anymore. Yes they use to be global but that changed when Lollipop came out. Just do a search abou tit and you will find all kinds of furious people talking about No EQ in Xperia phones.
Sony made a very greedy and customer unfriendly decision to cater to Google and any other app developers like Spotify, by only allowing these special sound settings that we can all see, in the sound settings menu, to work on there app, only if they, the app developers, apparently pay Sony so that Sony would give them the code that engages the sound settings! Why did SOny do this you ask? It must be bull**** you exclaim! No.. Its not.. Ive done research and this is NOT the first nor will it be the last rant on this subject
They do this cause apparently Sony is greedy as phuck! This is also why Samsung has the best Sony cameras in there phone yet Sony neglects to put it in there own phones! Sony sells this stuff to companies and what that does is it makes Sony more money cause they lie to us, telling us that their product is the best blah blah etc etc. You get the idea. But the fact is what we are gettings is a half ass product which could be great but arent casue Sony sold out there best parts and technologies to other companies! Sony is a retard company that does things half ass and dont care about the customer. They lie to us all telling us they have this great Hi-Rez device, but they dont tell you it only plays hi-res if you use it in a special way that noone will use. They give you the option to use a special EQ and other audio enhancements but you cant use any of these enhancements unless you use the Sony "approved" apps that unlock the enhancments !
