No, you will have to open the rear cover and essentially remove all the internal parts to replaced the screen assembly.

Replacing the touchScreen

Hello,

I have the adhesive of the tactile screen that is not glued properly...
Do think it's possible to change the front adhesive without dismounting all? :cowboy: I have the touchscreen that is lifting up (I can actually pass the nail on top part of the screen).
I ordered some adhesive for the front house, and for backcover. The backcover adhesive doesn't seem to be too complicated to change. But the adhesive of the touchscreen i don't know if i can change it just lifting up

Yes, u will lose ur warranty. First, u can't buy official Sony parts and change it by urself, only replacement parts. And second, with this method u will lose waterproof. U will also need new adhesive for the loudspeaker.

Well, I would be returning to the service centre that used the wrong adhesive to make them put it right.
If you don't want to do that for whatever reason, then surely it's simply a matter of removing the back cover, cleaning off the adhesive they applied and replacing it with the correct adhesive.

hi lads, ive tried to change my whole lcd (bought new lcd already fitted into housing) because i broke my original one when i cutted flex cable. Now new lcd is working, but no respond from digitizer, in different words, lcd is NOT touch sensitive. Is there any special connector, or issue that ive missed? LCD is definitely new and good

thanks

On picture 5.1 you have connector near the left finger, that one is for the touch. Check it out, maybe is damaged or not well connected.

You can check if your flex cable is damaged, check your connector too. If everything seems right it's probably your new digitizer not working. You can try on this way. Turn off your phone, reconnect it again and hold with your finger, than turn on your phone.

Sony Xperia Z touchscreen replacement

I may be getting confused but my issue is that my phone displays flawlessly but I cannot unlock the phone as there is a series of cracks on what i would call the touchscreen. Are you saying that

a) regardless what front display issue I have, I need to replace both the touchscreen element and the display as they are one unit, or
b) once I follow your guidance of taking the phone apart I will be able to replace only the touch digitizer.

Im just not sure which one is necessary and as I am about to order parts I would appreciate if you could help me clear this up. Im sure you are aware there is a significant price difference.

Any help greatly received.

Hi, followed guide which worked pretty well. however i now can't get access to my network, SIM card unlocks, wifi connects, but no connection to the network. I've rechecked all the connectors and the connections. Any clues? Is the mobile antenna in the black housing at the bottom?

thanks

Xperia Z1 Tablet.

Hi All>>

Looking to replace the digitiser on my wifes Z1 Tablet.

Have purchased a replacement, came with pry bars and screw drivers. I assume the above method would be pretty similar, if on a larger scale. However I am fond of breathing so any clarification would be appreciated. I have pillaged teh interwebz and tutorials/guides for the tablet are scarce.

Thanks in advance.

I saw this youtube video " watch?v=1TFFHFHUJjc " and I have did it. Search "Sony Xperia Z Separate Touch Screen (Digitizer Glass) Scotle PR-1000 "

Clamps, Heat gun, UV LOCA glue, and Molybdenum wire.

BUT when I turn on show visable pointer upon touch in developer options.

When I touch the top right it clicks on the bottom left. vice versa.
When I drag down it drags right. vice versa.

I dont know if the digitizer is defective or I messed up the connections when I took the old one off and the new one on or maybe it some how bent or the gule is somehow uneven and it is making the touches off point.

Or maybe I need to calibrate the touch screen? I actually trying to search it now how to do it.

Any suggestions guy on any of this?
Please help.

If repair shop is not official they use replacement parts, oem parts are much more expensive (about 340$ in my country).
