I have rooted my phone, using Moonbreakers Gold 7.0.

I am having serious problems with some apps, games in particular. The game Kritika just can't start becuse of "XIGNCODE3 detected". I installed Hidemyroot, but it won't hide it.
Then I try to unroot with SuperSU, but no progress.. Does anyone have any idea what to do?

Hi, I'm afraid the only way to solve this problem is a hard reset of your device, so the stock ROM will be installed again.

kindest regards, kuzibri

Hi! Since a few days after updating to 5.1.1 I've noticed a "bug" thats starting to annoy me.
I'm having push notifications DELAYS on wifi, when screen turned off (aka standby/deep sleep). The delays are betwen 30 seconds (wich is acceptable), and 5 minutes. Notifications will arrive if I manually turn on the screen.
I've used PNF to no avail, and, before anybody ask, yes, stamina is disabled, and there isn't any battery saving app installed.
Back in 4.4.4 there was an option called "wifi optimization" (wich fixed the delays), now in this android ver 5.1.1 that option is not present.

Well, that was some sort of "background" to my real questions. That are:
- Where are the advanced wifi settings stored? (so I can copy the config from the 4.4.4 to 5.1.1)
- There is any way to manually disable the wifi optimization on 5.1.1? (that is if it's enabled by default and hidden from the user to change it)

Any tips, ideas? I've tried every possible option / configuration that can be accessed normally within the regular settings.

Thx in advance.

PD: Rooted, locked bootloader. US vanilla firmware.

Hey guys, I recently came back from CM 12.1 due to the camera fisheye problem. I was able to flash an ftf 23.4.A.1.200, re-lock by bootloader, restore my TA partition, and root it. Now that I saw some newer versions coming out I would like to flash them without losing my root or my apps. Is there a way to do this?

I figured I could install TWRP recovery for locked bootloaders and just install the pre-rooted .zip files but I couldn't find any information on installing recovery on 5.1.1. All guides I found tell me to downgrade to kit kat 1st, but it seems to me that this step is only to get root access, which I already have. Would it be as simple as "fastboot flash boot boot.img"?

Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I recently bought a Z3 (D6643), it's all original with android 5.0.2 (kernel 3.4.0 - firmware 23.1.A.1.28), I also bought a samsung evo 128gb micro sd card.
However, the phone doesn't recognize it, as if it wasn't plugged in.
Tried with other sd cards (2, 8 and 16gb) and it worked with the phone, tried the same card in other phones and worked too, but they don't work together.
Tried to format the card in many types (FAT32, exFAT, NTFS) and setting the partition to logical and primary.
Can someone help me please with a fix???

Is it okay to use Sony Xperia Z3 (SOL26-Unlocked) in India?

Hello! I need to know whether should I buy Sony Xperia Z3 (SOL-26) or not.
I'm having 2 options with SOL26-Unlocked & D6603 of Xperia Z3 models but I'm confused as SOL26 is mentioned to be a Japanese version but in lesser price compared to D6603.
As I want to use this phone in India, is Japanese version okay to have?
Which one should I get so that I won't be having any problems regarding network bands in India or custom ROMs or other issues.
Please help!

Hi,

Thanks for having such a thread! One where you can just "ask away"! I bought two Galaxy S5 Active, and both died on me after "testing" their water-resisting-ness in a glass of water, ha ha. One seller on eBay took it back, the other one didn't. Anyway, it was time to look for something else. So, I ended up with a Sony Experia Z3. I have to say, really nice phone. Having said this, here are my questions:

1. How many of you had their phone get in contact, or I should better say, get under water, and did not break?!

2. There is no way to set the default video recording to 4k, or is there? I have to go into the sub-menu and press 4K recording, in order to record in 4k??? On my Note 3, I can just set the default resolution to 4k and call it the day.

3. Photo and video quality seems to be not on par with my Note3. I just took a few pictures indoors and have to do some further testing, but is it possible that the Note 3 creates "better" pictures?

4. Best way to root the phone?

I appreciate any kind of input!

Thanks,

G

Root and unlocking boot loader.

Hi,
I'am interested in installing custom ROM on my Xperia Z3 D6603, both rooting and unlocking boot loader seems to be quite easy processes, but I don't want to unlock the boot loader before the end of next year when my phone will be out of warranty.
As an ex HTC user I was able to install custom ROMs with S-ON devices, alias only rooted ones. Now I read in some threads that root is not enough to install custom ROMs like Moonbreakers or the ones with Z5 features.
My question basically is: Can I flash custom ROMs with only root or I must have gain full access to the phone by unlocking boot loader?
Thanks

You can install a lot of roms on a locked bootloader mate, you must install a recovery once you are rooted as there is no stock Sony recovery. Look for LB/UB (locked bootloader/unlocked bootloader) in the title or rom description and you should be fine.

As far as I know, stock roms with stock kernel don't need bootloader to be unlocked. You need to unlock the bootloader in order to flash custom kernel and aosp stuffs.
tl;dr, if you are not gonna use custom kernel and aosp stuffs your bootloader can remain locked.
Ok, if you want to install moonbreakers, here's what I did when I first bought the device. I never unlock my bootloader.
1. Prepare the tools and root the device using Giefroot. and I recommend you to backup TA partition first just in case.
2.Install dual recovery.
3.Now that you have a working recovery you can flash any stock roms.
here's the guide by G-FACE.

if you want to unlock the bootloader remember to backup TA partition before you do it. If it's lost you can't get it back.

Hi there. Bunch of questions I need some help with.

I have a D6603 running a prerooted stock ROM at the moment, but I have also compiled Android M R1 using the binaries Sony provide for the M preview (risky, I know, but I dont plan on flashing just yet). As far as I am aware recovery is installed on my device, though it seems a little inconsistent when I try to boot to it.

Now, my real interest is in running pure AOSP on my device with root, and I am aware that I proably wont have root for M for a while.

My questions are, is it advisable running a pure AOSP ROM on my device at all? Is there a root method for AOSP 5.1.1? Is it likely AOSP M will get a root exploit? Where can I get more info on running AOSP?

I have done some searching, but when it comes to running AOSP there seems to be very little info. Thanks for any help.
