Since i have lot of experience with SoundMods ( I made the famous BioHazard Sound Mod ), I decided to create a sound modification for Redmi 2, so i am now here to share you my work! All is tested and is here because it gives you a very better sound (Tested!)

• These are beta builds, so expect much more

Requirements:

• Custom Recovery
• Rom based on LP or MM
• 50mb+ space on /system

Installation:

• Boot to recovery
• Wipe > Advanced > Dalvik Cache, Cache
• Install > Project APOLLO zip
• Reboot

Everything in the sound system runs system-wide in the background with no action required from the user. You wont see any app in the app drawer.

Updating:
Unless specified with an announced update, no wipes are necessary to update the Project APOLLO.

• Boot to recovery
• Install > Project APOLLO zip
• Reboot

If any undesired result or behavior occurs, dirty flash your current rom according to your rom dev's dirty flashing instructions and try again.

Uninstalling:
No uninstaller zip will be made available due to the amount of overwritten /system files.
Uninstall the Project APOLLO completely by dirty flashing your current rom according to your rom dev's dirty flashing instructions

Add-ons:

• V4A 2.4.0.1 (Material Light)
• V4A 2.4.0.1 (Material Dark)
• V4A 2.3.4.0 (Material Light)

Note : ViPER4Android Add-ons have drivers pre-installed.

ViPER4Andriod Setup :

Open ViPER4Android
Menu > Show Notification (block if desired by long pressing notification)
Menu > UI Setting > Expert
Menu > Save Effect Profile > New Effect Profile > "Stock" (this will help you find your working v4a directory)
Menu > Load Effect Profile > The BASS King

To use the The BASS KING Profile, extract the The BASS KING (AudioPhile) zip and merge the /ViPER4Android folder into the directory where /ViPER4Android/Profile/Stock exists.

Possible location paths are:
/data/media/0
/data/media/legacy
/mnt/runtime/write/emulated/0
/mnt/runtime/write/emulated/legacy
/sdcard
/sdcard/0
/storage/emulated/0
/storage/emulated/legacy

Begin playing audio file
Open v4a
Uncheck Enable v4a
Check Enable v4a

AM3D Zirene Setup :

Equalizer > ON
Preset > ROCK
Bass > Low
Treble > Med
Surround > ON

EDIT: Yes, as @arc_knight stated, this MOD apparently does not change sound quality, it installs V4A and Dolby Atmos apps, they don't crash but won't control audio settings, either. I am guessing this is one of those cases where SELinux must be set to permissive but if you are looking for a good audio fix, this is not the solution yet (v 0.02 alpha).

EDIT 2: OK, the workaround is to disable SELinux Using as root the command "setenforce 0" will do this bit first you should check what is SELinux and decide whether you need it or not.

ahh, i forgot mentioning, i just found out why it wasn't working actually. it had nothing to do with terminal.
what i did was simply disable my AudioFX of my AICP, and that actually solved the DOLBY and VIPER.
so i guess, the all sound drivers have to be diasbled for the anyone to work properly.

but then, there is still a difference in the quality of sound which i was able to hear in stock MIUI. i was trying to recreate the bass part, i got close, but not equally good, but definitely if you know how to control the equalizer, the sound improves. specially for the headphones. :victory::laugh::fingers-crossed:

if only xiaomi was not a jerk and released proper drivers for our phones.

I should have clarified that I am using CM13, here you need to disable SELinux using setenforce 0 to make it work. I tried to just disable CM's Audio FX with no results. I can do this every time I plug my headphones, but I would prefer not to. So, how is that AICP ROM doing? Is it stable? Does it update itself OTA?

Right now I am using Berserk Kernel which disables SELinux by default. Now I am sure your MOD is being blocked by SELinux, as other audio MODS in MM.

Great job, by the way. I enjoyed a lot my music with your MOD, I make good use of this Senheiser HD202 headphones thanks to you and look forward for your next build.

hahaha, AICP, its doing pretty good, just at times the screen doesnt light up when a call comes in, but that really rare. and OTA updates does itself if you are on TWRP, or else if you are on CWM, you gotta download it and install the zip by dirty flashing in the recovery.

Thanks @anandmore. This version seems more problematic to me. While I am familiar with V4A folder structure, I can't make it work no matter what version I try. I think V4A is having problems to write to SD card, because it is not creating any Profile folder. Even if I create the V4A folder structure and try to load a Profile, seems like V4A can't even read from my SD card.

I do not know if AM3D Zirene is compatible with Viper4Android or Dolby Atmos, I installed the three Addons and I am getting a FC with Zirene. Dolby Atmos seems to be working just fine.

Am3d needs permissive selinux to work and regarding v4a, i will fix it in the next build.
Till then you can try deleting it from the system and install as an apk

Tried and tested this mod. First of all you have to disable CM equalizer and then you can use this one. You will never notice any change in speaker's audio quality until you turn on speaker optimisation. Secondly while using using headphones or external speakers, you will clearly fell rich bass. Nice work by #anandmore. You can also use dolby audio to enhance audio quality while watching movies or videos on external speakers or headphones.

Hey guys!! actually i am a big fan of redmi 2 loudspeaker sound in miui ROM!! it comes so clear.. but i couldnt found the same sound in other Cyanogen ROMS!! Could you please tell does this mod has same clear sound like MIUI ROM in speaker???
