Perhaps the most weirdest question ever but:

What will happen if I flashed the rootable kernel on 4.3, try to root it and flash stock kernel back?
Despite the fact that there are many ways to root our 4.3 firmware we need to downgrade first and root it which takes quite some time.. And there is no active development or way to root it witouth all the steps :)
It won't boot.

New to the Sony SP so please take it easy on me. Sorry if my question seems kind of lame:confused:

Device: Bell Canada Sony SP c5306 with the latest 4.3 firmware (12.1.a.0.266).

In order to root my device, I will flash the 12.0.a.1.257 from the link in original post and run the required bat file. I'm not sure which firmware I should flash in step 11: do I flash the .254 or .245 kernel?

Any information you are able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You will need to do a FULL firmware downgrade then use my rootkit to get root access, then install recovery... then use a stripped FTF to upgrade to latest baseband, etc and the flash a prerooted system update.zip from recovery...

I think I found a full .254 firmware for a North American LTE SP which I can flash using the flashtool. Hopefully, that will work with your rootkit.

Not sure if it's possible but I was hoping to downgrade, root, install recovery, and flash a custom ROM. Unfortunately, I have a locked bootloader so I know my ROM choices are limited.
