Tried it, Flashed system.sin, kernel.sin and it also had loader.sin in the list in flashtool. Ran the tool, here is the output:



Mind you I have a C5303. Although I think the only difference is LTE amirite?

look at the next part of the output... that is more important "Attempting perf_event exploit..."

All it needed was to do an additional chmod 777 on doomed2.

Now it works like a charm. Thing is, x-parts doesn't support the SP. You thing Nothingatall's cwm for the 2011 line will work for it?

YIIIPPPEEEEE got the phone rooted.......awesome.....just used the FTF mentioned in op and followed the instructions worked like a charm.....now only left is to install the CWM and i wanna get rid of the default Chinese keyboard.....for some reason cannot unselect the option and have only the english keyboard......DooMLoRD.......tnx a ton...nah a million...zillion......

of course will wait for the CWM...one more piece of advise for other users....I was trying to update the .284 ftf firmware since yesterday but was not able to achieve it.....I was trying to do it on a Windows 8 64bit machine....n believe me win 8 is causing a lot of problems to install the default drivers.......today i flashed the ftf on a win 7 32bit machine and rooted the device on it....n in within mins phone was rooted.....

Tried to flash this. It succeeds, but then if you try and boot into recovery it will either hang (by using the keys), or it will just not do it (when trying to boot through adb command)

I had to run this exploit twice 1st was not successful 2nd time it said successful but still no supersu one reboot and hey pesto supersu in app draw.

i want the kernel.sin from someone who has got the update via SEUS/blob_fs... so that its a confirmed kernel of the corresponding firmware...


i am working towards a more generic solution.. so if i get the kernel.sin files from these firmwares it will help me a LOT!

After the window "Wait fo flashmode" appears you must turn off you phone and connect it to PC in flashmode (with pressed Volume button down). Till then you don't have to connect your phone to computer.

Flashtool_drivers.rar : sony, fastboot, adb, google usb drivers.
DPInst32 - x86 system.
DPInst64 - x64 system.

On my win 8 x86 installed and working OK.
