Hammered!

Yes. Edit links and leave name. For Pete's sake Mr Stalker, what in tarnation would you like?
Just edit the reported links, and leave the spammers name instead like below?![]()
Was that just test editing? I don't think spammer names don't need editing![]()

You seriously need to consider that XDA Senior Moderators belong to the most lazy species in the vastnesses of the world wide web. I firmly believe these are too complex decisions I've to make. In order not to overload me: K.I.S.S.
Every day I wonder why users like @Dayuser. @galaxys, @ipdev and maybe a few others still have to report spam posts here. Why are they not given (maybe limited) moderator rights to delete those posts themselves? In case of doubt they can still report here to let the moderator team decide.More than just off-topic in this thread but I see a lot of members who are very interested in keeping XDA free of spam, and I like to especially address all of our esteemed RC's. And there's much more to do to maintain XDA's attractiveness than just to eliminate spam.
If you believe XDA has already a great active and dedicated moderators team, I fully concur. However, if you believe we don't need more moderators, I apologise to say without being impolite you're wrong. Please count the number of moderators here who are all doing this "job" voluntarily and for free besides their real lifes, real families and friends, real business and occupations. Please set this number in relation to 11M+ members and 3.5M+ threads with 75M+ posts. This probably best shows that the moderators family is more than happy about anybody who considers to join us. Please think about it! Thanks a lot.

We currently need new Forum Moderators
Hi everyone, the moderator team on XDA currently needs some fresh blood. How about sending your application to become a moderator? If : - you have free time to spend on this role, - you fit the minimum requirements (see below), - you are...forum.xda-developers.com
I was sure...
I also liked that 10-post system before they could add links or create a thread but we also had a lot of members just randomly posting 10 useless posts just to create a thread or post a link. I don't even know what system works better, a lot has changed since then.In the old days, a new user had to first write a few posts in other threads before he could start his own thread.
This was good, because it forced the user to read many posts about his own problem and sometimes learn to use the forum search engine. Currently, there is no restriction for starting a thread, which results in asking the same questions over and over again on the same problems.
Such repeated questions over and over again are also a form of SPAM.
Perhaps it would be worthwhile to return to the old rule.
Hi there,
Several of your 'thanks' posts have been deleted as it is obvious that you are trying to get your post count up to ten to post in the dev forums
Instead of spamming the forums with 'thanks' posts [which is against XDA rules] you would be better off hitting the thanks button. To get to ten posts, head over to the general Q&A section of your device or the main Q&A forum and answer a couple of peoples questions.
This has 3 benefits - win:win situation :
1. You get to help another member and get the 'feel good factor' by helping someone out.
2. Your post count will very quickly increase - there are many people out there looking for help and you wont get into trouble by spamming.
3. You may actually learn something new today by helping someone with a problem that you may not of known about yourself - remember Google is your friend (search).
So, go on, feel good today and help someone you dont know
Cheers.
Tim.
