SPB Mobile Shell 2.1 Theme / Skin Collections Thread

i have been trying to download SPB 2.1 but ever where i go i got to pay for it is there somewhere i dont have to pay plz help

There's a free trial on the SPB website (at least there used to be). Fully functional, no nag screens or anything. The only way you know it isn't the full version is after 30 days (or however long it is, I can't remember) it tells you to redister it.

On another note...
Does anyone know when the new version is going to be released? The last I heard was OEM's get it in February, consumers get it in March. Well it's March, so has anyone heard anything?

I haven't heard anything about the release date yet. On the subject of mobile shell here is a new background for my storm theme. Credit for the background goes to Bob_55, from his s2u2 theme blackberry.

Go to the link in my signature to get it, the new background is on last page.

Hi evrybody,

since a few day, i've start playing with my spb mobile shell, i've read thread and make some personnal adjustement on my device.

I've tried to get a 9x9 icon launcher, but i get a problem...2 problems ...

1st one :
all 9 icons appear and work, but on the 3 new icons (m6,m7 m8), icones are not at the good place (like 5 or ten px more in Y) and i've got the same problem for their titles... so i can't see the titles ...
if i put m6,7,8 on the top i get the same problem and their titles are on the icons m0,1,2 ... And idea on this point ?

2nd problem :
i've put a nice backqround on the spb mobile shell home, but i can't see it on the launcher, wich ligns need i to change or add to get my backround here ?

Thanks for this thread there's a lot of informations to play with spb...but..yes there's a but... i've another problem and this one is make me crasy !!!

On each page, i've add a top bar with battery, clock and statu. The problem is that i get a blue text on the clock and i can't change it !!!
(clock applied with : Class="Spb.LSP.ModernDClock" Name="ModernDClock)

Can anyone make a skin that looks like mac OSX? I think the icons at the bottom to look like the mac dock would be awesome. Ive seen it done with other themes and interfaces but I love SPB too much to use something else.

*just saying this ahead of time for anyone who hates. You may think this is blasphemy but as far as i am concerned a mac theme on windows is no worse than a blackberry theme. Mac is to windows = blackberry to windows mobile. NO?

After change background image for VistaMobileShell_v0.2.1c

Download & Unzip File Then copy qp_bkg_now.dat to your device \Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell

Hope you happy with this new image background.

I have a question and a wish again ;-):

Can somebody integrate the menue of the 3 profiles (sound, vibra, quiet) in this theme in the "now" screen (in "classic" with analog clock)? I miss this button very much in the very nice now screen :-(.

Hi there, members of the skinning olymp.
I just started using SPB mobile shell and i am very very amazed by your efforts here. Your skins look amazing and give a LOT of extra value for this cool product.
One thing i didnt find was a simplistic skin. White on black (i mean black, no background image) without (!) all this glossy effect. i went through this thread on maybe 40 pages and after 3,5 hours I couldnt find one.
Is such a skin already made?

thx very much to greatbal! I like this theme so much, it is simple and very nice ! I tried many themes (last was WinMo 6.5) and many are realy good but they have to much options.. I like this simple theme GSmart from greatbal.

I also tried to change the background and take some other picture from this thread (I think called Real Diamond). This background i put in the black version from GSmart. I'm not sure if it is allowed or not to change something and to share later? If it is i would share the Real Diamond background too.

Changing background in default skin

I tried to change the background in the default SPB MS skin by replacing Separator.bmp and Separator2_m.bmp in qp_bkg_now.dat. The problem is that I can see the new background only in now screen, all other screens have no background. I'm sure there is some other file that need to be modified but I cannot figure out which one. Can anyone help me with this?

you need to edit all xml from screen you want to see your background in qa_layouts.dat :
- Contact.xml for contacts details
- SpbMenu.xml for icone launcher (the page, not the fast bottom launcher)
- SpeedDial.xml for contacts
- Weather.xml for weather
- time.xml for time and alarm details
...
plugin need to be declared in default layout :
<Layout Name="Default">
<Plugins>
<Plugin Class="Spb.LSP.GradBackground" Name="Background">
<Int Name="NoBackgrd" Value="1"/>
<Point Name="Separator3Y" X="0" Y="21"/>
</Plugin>
.....
And skin need to be declared in each layout, like this by examples :
<Layout Name="240x320">
<Plugins Extends="Default">
<Plugin Name="Background" Skin="qp_bkg_now" DoubleSkin="vp_bkg_now"/>

@greatbal: Hi is it possible that you work on a vga theme like gsmart or another? I like your themes very much and on my diamond I have one of you (similiar like the original diamond) but I like this gsmart very much.. now I hope you get a vga screen too ;-).. maybe we all get very nice vga themes.. maybe? i hope..
