I may have read too much into your words here. I've just followed your instructions and my Sprint V405UA is still locked to Sprint. So... anybody reading this, don't get your hopes up. :(
This does not sim unlock your sprint device. if you could not do the process and switch to the US unlocked rom, I do not understand. If you follow the steps correctly, you end up without problems.

Well everywhere here we have put that KDZ flashing doesn't carrier unlock.....you must get the unlock directly from Sprint....

"Everywhere", meaning this one reply of "flashing the US unlocked rom no sim unlocks", which could mean "I am flashing the US unlocked ROM without an existing SIM unlock", or "Flashing the US unlocked ROM does not SIM-unlock". You guys were not clear. So I posted a clarification for anybody getting their hopes up reading your thread.

Well there are members who don't write or speak English that well, but the threads that Xsavi or myself have made have specifically highlighted this fact...

Did you had to turn or Data Roaming for the Data and LTE to work?
At least where I live, it connects to 4g lte without activating roaming "in sprint" (using verizon rom)

you can try and if it doesn't work well, you can install the LG US factory unlocked version. you must install 20a verizon build. I don't know if installing a later version lets you downgrade, since the latest LG US unlocked version is in build 20a

I flashed V405UA20A, and all works great on my Sprint variant. I used LGUP to do the flash via the upgrade option. However, I'm stuck with the May 2019 security patch.

Can this this firmware get OTA updated to the latest security patch?

When I run the update option in settings, all I get is a message stating I'm on the latest OS.Screenshot_20191124-051226.jpg

It's very weird. I installed that build and looked for a new version and it gave me the option to install a new version. So, ota works in my lg v40

Did you use LGUP to flash? If so, did you use refurbish, upgrade, or DL?

One other thing, did it OTA upgrade you to the November patch?

I use lgup. I flashed just using powershell commands. It is my first LG and therefore the first time I flash an LG. I don't know at all those options you mention like refurbish.?

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me the date of the security patch you currently have? I'm would like to know if you were able to get the latest patch.
