II had used cwm recovery. I also have a stock recovery, but I can't even flash that. I get the same signature verification failed error. Have I managed to brick my phone? :(
Might have borked something up. Might have to use Odin to flash CWM or a custom recovery. If that doesn't work I'd follow the instructions to completely unroot and start again. I have to unroot a couple times when I first started messing around. This phone is so lot different than my EVO so I got things confused. I don't think you've bricked it.

If it has power is not bricked... Use Odin to flash a custom recovery and then flash whatever your trying to flash...

What if I can't get Odin to recognize my device. I'm stuck on stock recovery screen and can't get a full boot up. Gets to second Samsung screen and stays there.

Reinstall drivers and use a better data cable

Agreed. Uninstall... reboot.... install... reboot... try to root again...

As for the phone... is there anything on. It you need? If not, being in stock recovery, reimage the phone back to complete factory and see if it boots. If there is nothing on the phone to show it's been messed with.... warranty it if it won't restore a factory imagine.

Was able to flash cwm ver 5. But when I boot into recovery I don't see my external sd card which is where my flash files are. Can I flash my rom via Odin?

Mounted external

Did you check the obvious and make sure that your sdcard was mounted? ;)

Yes. from CWM recovery v5.5.0.4 I went into mounts and storage and clicked on mount external. Now it shows as unmount external. But when I goto install sip from sd card, my external isn't an option. How do move files from external to internal memory. When I connect my phone to laptop, it installs drivers, but I don't see it under My Computer... my brain is starting to hurt

After selecting "install from sdcard", there's an option to "select from external sdcard"

Also, you should really update your recovery....latest is CWM 6.0.2.3.

Yes I checked and it was indeed mounted. Installation kept aborting saying bad file....funny, because all I did was reboot, move file from external SD card to internal storage, rebooted into recovery and flashed no problem. So file obviously wasn't bad.

On a side note my sg3 isn't playing completely nice with external anyway. It shows that it's mounted in storage settings, titanium bu shows external card capacity and usage, and I can access while connected to PC. But....titanium bu doesn't have the options to move user apps to external....weird. Is this a jellybean thing?

Yes, actually I believe it is a jb thing.. with phones having so much internal storage now the need to move apps to external is pretty much obsolete now

When I select install from sd card I don't have an option to install from external. Even though I made sure it was mounted. I will update my cwm recovery but what van I do about this not recognizing my sd card and my computer isn't recognizing my device even though drivers are installed. Odin sees it but as for my computer I don't see it. Was gonna move files to internal storage but I can't even do that!

have you tried uninstalling the drivers, see if the pc will see it then, if not reinstall and try again. maybe see if drivers need to updated. as for the sd card, try taking it out and then reboot without, then shut down again and put sd card back in and reboot. just suggestions that have worked for me on other devices in the past.

I know on my Evo4G every time I took out the SD Card... I spent 10 minutes popping the battery and card in and out to get the phone to see it. Every time I thought something was busted. But nope, two years later still working fine.
