It is working with US GSM carriers, the only problem is you're only going to get edge speeds just like the Verizon version does in both the s3 and the s4, if you're ok with that speed then go ahead, there are about 3 different ways to unlock it. I did unlock mine and used it on a trip overseas when I came back i inserted a prepaid AT&T SIM card and it worked, gave it to my nephew and he is using it with the $30 T-mobile prepaid plan.

anyone get this working?

I followed the steps from the international SIM unlock thread but am not having success in getting my phone to work on tmobile.

I get the APN settings to show tmobile but can't get network selected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I never had a gsm phone so I dont know alot about world phones. On sprints community foruma there is much debate if the gs4 is a world phone. I see a sim slot my guess that it is. Anyway if I were to switch to tmobile, can this phone be used or is it completely impossible? Other countries use gsm networks only so being a world phone I would assume that it can be used with US gsm networks. Thanks.

I've unlocked my sprint s4 and have used it on tmobile network but I wanted tmobile for the better data coverage as sprint sucks at that and ended up not being able to use 4g only 3g :/

I get hspa+ on tmobile in Phoenix az and I get like 12 bit down which is way faster than sprint here, by like 10x. Plus hspa+ will max at 42mbit which are lte like speeds.

Sorry to ruin your doubt's guys but I manage to use the guides and unlock 2 different sprint gs4's mine and a friends he's got at I switched to T-Mobile just after unlocking and I have h+and he's got h+ ... Works fine actually signal compared to sprint is significantly different.. As far as having bars I haven't had a gsm capable device since my touch pro 2... 3 years ago.. Been hiding in the world of CDMA mvno's

That is not correct. It will work if you unlocked it. You will only get EDGE data for the time being in the US.

Some people told me the same thing when I was trying to get an iPhone 4s from sprint to make work on T-Mobile guess what all those people were wrong my iPhone 4s is working on T-Mobile with 3g signal and is kind of fast not edge speed but 3g so I believe it can be done as well with this one just give it a shot but like always get the back up of your phone first before trying something new

Would be nice if you linked to the particular threads where you found this info. So far I have had zero luck with unlocking it to work with ATT, and I have tried tweak after tweak. If possible, please link to the guides you used.

I wonder if he's talking about this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530610

That is definitely the correct link lol, obviously skipped to page 4 and didn't read. I mentioned it in page 3.
also a Google search for sph-l720 domestic unlock it's literally the first link. And I wrote the guide, kindly sifting thru over 100 pages of information buried in four different threads.

Has zero to do with this phone. Consider that every phone these days has a unique radio chip (almost all at least, even the different varieties of the s4 have different baseband chips) while it may be true that it didn't work well or the iPhone 4s it's pretty rash to give advice when you haven't even taken the time to read this tiny 4 page thread where I listed the speeds that you can expect in refarmed 1900mhz spectrum.

I used to have the S4 and I'm not sure, but I'm able to flash a modified CM onto my LG G2 and it'll work with HSPA+ (4G) if the area has been refarmed. Good luck!

ok im here to lay this issue to rest once and for all

i have the SPH-L720 from sprint i had it working here in Miami on Straight talk
it was faster that ANY PHONE i have ever seen faster than my note 2
but i messed it up when i upgraded to kitkat
i looked online until i found out how to root then unlock then while still on the stock ROM i went into the service menu
edited some settings rebooted and put my sim in the thing
it got a lil bit warm but the reception & speed were like nothing i have ever seen it was crazy
it blew my note 2 away i got greedy and tried to upgrade to kitkat and now im having trouble getting the data working
but i can make calls the rom is an important component i think was the jedi X multi-carrier some of the roms are missing the option that lets u select your carrier and configure it
BUT IT WILL WORK IT DOES WORK DONT BE DISCOURAGED

You're wrong, like most of the posters on here!

You can't do it, it is impossible. Sprint has US carriers blocked and there is no method to unlock to use a Sprint phone on Tmobile. So here is the steps to follow: List your Sprint phone on Ebay or Craigslist, Sell it, go buy a Tmobile S4, enjoy.
Dude where are you getting your information? Sprint has micro-sim technology, as does Verizon, and IT CAN be unlocked for Tmobile! Want PROOF? I am currently using a SPRINT LG G2 on TMOBILE's NETWORK! And getting 4g HSPA Speeds on a gorgeous stock rom.
Before you guys assume how hard it is to make this happen, (or impossible) it only took me about 30 minutes to do it.
Time to read up boys!!! This is the stock rom for LS980 WORKING on T-MOBILE. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2639165&page=11 Since this is possible, I am POSITIVE IT IS possible to use the Sprint S4 on T-Mobile as well.
