If you followed all the directions posted - I don't know why it isn't working. Wish I could be of more help but it worked for me and a bunch of other people.Yes, I deleted that folder. And I am on Sprint.
Yeah. I tried some from the ROM Toolbox Pro. Still no luck. I followed your instructions exactly but still no luck. I have no idea what the hell is going on? Lol. I've honestly never made flashable versions of my bootanimations - I'm weird and prefer doing certain things manually - but I could look into it.Now that we have recovery any chance of flashable versions?
Do we need to find out how to bump the flashable files or can we just flash something. I want to try some of the themed apps I found on another thread.I've honestly never made flashable versions of my bootanimations - I'm weird and prefer doing certain things manually - but I could look into it.
Im on the irc channel now - only kernels need patched. So as long as the flashable zip doesn't contain a new boot.img, anything flashable for twrp 2.8 should work fine.Do we need to find out how to bump the flashable files or can we just flash something. Doctor Who Bootanimation for the Sprint LG G3!
WARNING
This is a disclaimer: While this has been tested I am not responsible for ANY damage done to your device. I take no responsibility for bootloops, soft bricks, hard bricks, living brick monsters, your phone proving an omnipotent being fallible(thus negating all existence), your great aunt smoking bath salts, flying monkeys, hot pockets, obamacare, dingleberries, carnivorous dingleberries or Sundays. Use at your own risk!!
Secondary disclaimer: If you have carnivorous dingleberries then you have bigger problems to worry about - but for any phone related questions feel free to message me on here either privately or in the thread.
This is my personal bootanimation for the Sprint LG G3 and I thought I would share it with any other Doctor Who fans out there. The original video is not my work, I simply did the leg work to turn it into a bootanimation. Doctor Who and the Tardis are registered trademarks of the BBC.
THIS IS NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP!(Obviously, since our bootloader is still locked). You have to manually put it into your system/media folder and change permissions(-rw-r--r-- aka 644). Also, you will want to delete your old boot animation(make a backup!). The G3 has two bootanimations on our phone so you will want to replace both bootanimation.zip and bootanimation_sprint.zip(Just rename this file and have two copies in system/media). Then manually put both PowerOn.ogg and PowerOn_Sprint.ogg into system/media/audio/ui for working sound! You ALSO need to either replace the files in carrier/cust/poweron or just delete that folder altogether(That's what I did).
Again, make sure you have backups of your original files saved to your computer. For me if something didnt work I would get a black screen but it would still boot. Other phones can soft brick but it looks like the G3 isn't one of em - still, better safe than sorry! I never ask for donations but if you like/use it, you could always hit that thank button!

Whoa!!! That is some impressive work!
I may not watch Dr Who, but I can watch that bootani a lot.
Thanks, and glad you came over.:good:
Edit: I think I've rebooted too many needless times. It really looks good on this screen.

Yep, same file two different names because Sprint likes being difficult, lol. And glad you're liking solid explorer, I think it just has an incredibly intuitive ui.Do we use the same file for the Power On and PowerOn_Sprint? Also thanks for turning me on to Solid Explorer. I like it, like it a lot.
