Lol at the elitists who think XDA is a hacker only forum. Its about phones and has always been about phones, to discuss and get answers and give opinions. An ENTHUSIAST site, in all its incarnations. That's 90% of the threads right there. It's been like that for years. Don't step out of the Development section than if you are afraid the nub started threads will burn you. No one has ever cared for the whole tagging system. Keep it clean with separate forums, because even though the devices MAY seem identical, they aren't.

Build.prop carrier info will need to be diff on Sprint. That and Sprint specific apps wont work unless Sprints framework branding is intact.

That and Sprint apps that wont show up, the whole market Sprint menu wont show. That and I can imagine much more. There needs to be separate Themes sections also.

I think having them all combined is good and bad. It's good for development because things will be easily portable so it allows devs quick access to everything. But it could also be a nightmare. I wonder how many "help!! I flashed a sprint rom on my att gs3 and now I'm bricked" threads there are going to be.

Using a Nexus S 4G and coming from a combined forum, this really is the way to go. A major issue around xda is that members either can't or decide not to read. If we take the time to pay attention and read before flashing things we'll all be just fine.

Well you pretty much said it, "A major issue around xda is that members either can't or decide not to read". And what is wrong with separating the appropriate forums to alleviate the issue thats going to happen. Just trying to help avoid a mojor issue.

The problem is its not all the same, period.

BUMP to say I think it was a bad idea to join all us together. What a pain to sort through posts to see whats going on with Sprint related info.
