Do not WORK. CM10
I've used this apk on aopk, cm10 v5.0 & v5.1
And it works. Just install as you do any regular apk. Personal, I used rom toolbox, located the file and installed fined.
Yes, I do get 9016 text, but I barely get vms, so maybe 1 text per day doesn't bother me. It may be a CM think, but if I find a better apk, I'll update OP.

What's the version number on yours? I've got this version installed on CM9 and CM10 and it works beautifully.[/QUOTE

That one I'm using. Still get 9016 text.
Yeah, I get the texts, too. I don't think there's a way to get rid of them if you want to use Sprint VVM.

I don't mind them. They can actually come in handy sometimes if you restore the VVM to a new ROM and it doesn't notify you of new voicemails right off the bat. The text still shows up when the notification doesn't. lol

Fixing the sprint visual voicmail apk to with with CM10

you need to record a voicemail, and then forward it to the following email address from within sprint visual voicemail: [email protected]

This will stop the text messages and sync your voice mail.

do you still receive the 9016 text everytime you get a voicemail?

Didn't read the previous posts very well. When I was using the Optimus S with CM7 they had a Mms.apk that removed the 9016 text. Those can be really annoying. I like VVM better but right now I have to stick with google voice. I'm only using it for my voicemail and I don't get any texts so it works.

Exactly how do you forward the recorded voicemail? I tried sending it with Gmail and got:

Code:
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

     [email protected]

Technical details of permanent failure:
DNS Error: Domain name not found

Record it with the VVM app and then hit send. Compose -> Record -> Send to that address, all done within the app.
All I have is the microphone button in VVM. I record the message, then I only have the Share button with Bluetooth, Gmail, Skype, Voicemail, etc. I tried Gmail before with the above error message. When I try Voicemail with the email address you gave, the Send button stays grayed out. I suspect that it needs a phone number there.

hmm that's weird. I don't have VVM right now but that's how I reprovisioned it before.

Here's a solution THAT ACTUALLY WORKS because I just fixed it!

I recently switched from a TW based ROM to CM10 (and now PA2). I reinstalled the latest version of Sprint's VVM app which worked fine except for the annoying text message notifications from 9016. I searched all over the Internet for a solution. I read quite a few, "oh here's all you need to do ...worked for me...problem solved!" posts which frankly need to be deleted so others don't stumble across them and waste their time. Here's what I know to be true from my own research and testing using MY SAMSUNG EPIC 4G TOUCH aka Samsung Galaxy S2:

Texting "Block 9016" to 9999 - with or without the quotes - doesn't suppress text messages from 9016. You *will* get a lovely text from Sprint confirming that messages to and from 9016 are now blocked, but they won't be...because they're not supposed to be.

Recording a voicemail message - whether it's 5 seconds or 25 seconds - and sending it to "[email protected]" doesn't suppress text messages from 9016 - something you would have quickly discovered had you finally figured out that instead of sharing via Gmail/Email after you hit the share icon - which as Jim knows only resulted in a message not delivered notice - you instead needed to click Share Message and then in the To: field type [email protected], and then hit the return key on the keypad and then the send button. Had you been successful, you would have received yet another lovely text message from Sprint confirming that your voicemail service has been reprovisioned. As it turns out, reprovisioning your service doesn't suppress texts from 9016...because they're not supposed to be suppressed.

It occurred to me that Sprint needs to send a text from 9016 to alert the VMM app to download new messages from the VMM server. I don't need to see it on the MMS app because the VMM app sends a notification to the status bar. My hunch is that something in either the TW based ROM or the TW stock MMS app was coded to suppress texts from 9016. That "something" is apparently missing on the CM10 and/or stock MMS apps.

The good news is that "something" is not missing in the Handcent SMS app available for free on Play Store. I downloaded and installed Handcent and then disabled the stock MMS app. I didn't even have to add 9016 as a blacklist number. The Handcent developers baked the suppression fix into their code sometime in 2011 according to the release notes on their website.

Try Handcent and say goodbye to annoying texts from 9016 and say hello to pretty colors and cool features (neither of which you probably care about but it's free and I'm happy).
