ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.1.2
For Xperia U on ICS

ISSUES:
- No USB connection in recovery whatsoever (no adb, no USB mount etc.)
- No offline charging in recovery (for now, forgot a line of script)

Apart from the few issues above, everything else works! To get into recovery simply start your phone normally, and when you see the LED bar turn dark red, press the down button once. Your device will then enter recovery mode.

Worked.

But when I boot my phone, I don't see the LED-BAR turn Red.

I only see the status-led (upper right) turn into a lot of colors, so I just keep tapping the volume-down button at Sony logo untill I get into CWM.

    Is this pre-rooted?

It's not pre rooted, but you can flash superuser zip in recovery to get root access

    Procedure Someone Please?
my friend has this phone and even after rooting and doing it says root needed D:
so if anyone can post a procedure it would be kind

    Regards

    Get fastboot from here:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527159

Hope that you've installed all drivers from flashtool. Else, get it from here. Install it, and get the driver package from C:/flashtool/drivers.
Copy, and paste the kernel.elf file to fastboot folder.
Hold down shift, right click and select Open Command Window Here.
Type in "fastboot flash boot kernel.elf"
Before pressing enter, switch off your phone, hold vol up, and plug in your phone. The transparent bar turns blue.
Hit enter, and the process completes in around 0.840 secs ;)

    Regards.

    i flashed it via fastboot
but when i reboot i dont even get sony splash screen..the phone dies

    any ideas :\

Same issue here! Would love some feedback.. :fingers-crossed:

EDIT: My bad. I didn't notice this CWM is for ICS. I was on GB...
For those having my same issue ( i.e: phone not working anymore ) just flash stock ICS Sony Xperia U rom ( ftf file ) with flashtool and then you can go flash again this recovery.
