phh's Superuser works well as an alternative, though some apps like Flashfire only work with SuperSU.So there options but there not viable . Have a good day Sir , enjoy your Nexus One
Er? You mean there people here that read these forums and do not switch off auto update?Best to disable auto update of SuperSU on Google Play! ▶ who knows what's in store for later, and if the current SuperSU works on your ROM, why upgrade?

No one says it's a bad idea. People are saying that it was badly handled and thus it looked like they had something to hide. Sometimes transparency is everything.

Additionally, (as has been stated before) the reason SuperSU is still being spread through my Play account, is because the mighty Google has repeatedly failed in their attempts to move it.
Try SuperSume from the play store.Hi.
I have rooted my Medion p5001 phone successfully using kingo root which installed its own superuser app.
Then I installed supersu and it prompts to update the binary which fails and links to a faq entry which suggests as very first step to rename su to .su and copy this to xbin. Which su* exactly does this refer to?
Do I have to download a supersu compatible su binary? Link? Or do I misunderstand?

peter
I'm having trouble with rooting my completely stock LG G3 d851 on Marshmallow 30d. I've been able to install TWRP by adb after temp rooting with Kingroot. I then use TWRP to try to install SuperSU's zip (2.7.6). This takes out Kingroot but doesn't install SuperSU. Any ideas on what's going wrong?
Thanks.

Preliminary update for Android 4.2's multi-user capabilities.
Only the main user can run the UI and gain root access.
Secondary user's apps will not be granted root, nor can
those users change SuperSU configuration.
This is all temporary. Proper multi-user support is being
worked on.
Note that if a non-user process (like ADB shell) needs to
prompt for root, that prompt will always appear on the
MAIN user's screen !
