Standby app?

At the risk of being bashed and flamed for not knowing how to search, but I've had no luck.

Is there an app to put the X1 into standby like the quick press of the power button?

I have the PHM Soft reset app, that's handy, but I'd like an app to put the thing into standby.

I'm pretty sure there is a shortcut, but why would you want this? Couldn't you just press the power button?

tap the power button when the screen goes off its in standby.

For an experiment I want an app and map it to one of the hardware keys, or just place it in a launcher on my SE panel, so I can put it into standby without altering my grip.

I just find the power button a bit of a pain and wanted to explore other options.
