isnt the point of qualcom location package to save battery when using it? Dont see any difference when using it thou, everyting works without lol. I will test this trickHey,
For those suffering from the dreaded battery drain, I found something interesting. By disabling wake locks on the qualcomm location package, the phone started getting really good standby battery life. I used this article as a base for blocking the com.qualcomm.location package : https://www.xda-developers.com/stop-wakelocks-android-without-root/
The main culprit for the drain on my phone was the LocationManagerServiceEx service which would often triggers wake locks once called after using maps or waze for example. I haven't seen any downside using this method : GPS still works flawlessly as well as the Location function. Give it a go and report back, now using the V10 is a treat, as it should always have been![]()
Hey, don't bother, I forgot to post that it wasn't working properly after all. For now, I use WakeBlock on my rooted H960A to block the LocationManagerServiceEx wakelock that pops up after using GPS heavy apps like Waze. It then ate through my battery unless I rebooted the device (looking at the code, it's never properly released ...) . Haven't seen any adverse effect after blocking it for now.isnt the point of qualcom location package to save battery when using it? yea i get almost 0% drain with greenify and all that crap, but the problem is sometimes screen wont wake up when someone calls me, and sometimes it restarts when someone is calling, so i have no idea someone called meHey, don't bother, I forgot to post that it wasn't working properly after all. As a side note, LocationManagerServiceEx isn't a qualcomm service as I previously though, but a com.android.server one stored in the services.jar library. If you look around, you'll see other LG devices are impacted ...
Please how did you root your LG V10?wow lots wrong. my problem is that i'm rooted and have exposed installed so i never know if its the mods affecting the phone overheating and battery drain. Glad tmobile was able to do a swap.
