Got my s7 edge 4 days ago and ever since i got this nasty google play-services bug. It seems to wake up the phone, a lot. Attached screenshot is taken just 2 hours off the charger. The amount of wakeups for the play-services is already at almost a thousand. Running completely stock with the laters apg4 build . Tried disabling location services to no avail. Got the phone hooked up to my moto 360 and nothing else really. Anyone knows a possible fix for this problem? Also, the android system and android OS is quite high up in my battery overview, almost at the same level as the display.

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.

Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I've had a pretty bad battery drain issue on this phone and I literally just got it and froze all Samsung bloatware.

I had about 77% at night and in the morning I was down in the 20%. I have no idea what is draining my battery
I didnt think that Display Always on might effect the battery bc of the Amoled screen but tonight is going to be my first night with it completely off. Let's see how it goes.

Hi guys, I've had my Exynos version Galaxy S7 Edge since it launched over here in the UK and everything was great apart from some silly sound issues when streaming videos.

So after some debating I decided to reset the phone in recovery mode and see if it sorted it out (it didnt).

Now I have a battery drain issue where the android system is using over 50% of the battery. I'm having to charge twice a day now, whereas originally I got a full day of heavy usage with 20-30% batter remaining. Now something on the Android system is using the CPU constantly.

Any advice appreciated, I'm gonna see about rooting and flashing another ROM this weekend when I've had a chance to read up on it.

Thanks

Ended up wiping the cache and resetting again in recovery mode and its now back to the way it used to be, anyone having battery drain issues i'd suggest just doing that as my android system battery usage is down to 14% now from 51% before. I don't know why it did it. All good now

Phone's been used a little bit since 6am mostly idle, it's now 8:15pm and it has 90%, I'm calling that damn good. Finally something positive.

Yes I have the same issue, used to have a 2% battery drain overnight but after the last July update it's mostly 5% - 6% with very poor network signal reception. Tried wiping and factory resetting multiple time and even airplane mode, but to no avail :/

Welcome to the MM android system/os battery drain club.
Once a member, you're in for life.

At least on other phones you can go back to 5.1.1. There is no for sure fix on MM.

Mine has also, but I think I know why. Looks like we got carrier IQ. I've got big wakelocks from diagnostics.client.wakelock.

I stopped the IQService using Service Disabler and my standby wakelocks went back under control. I am on the AT&T variant, so this may not be the case for all. My overnight standby was a little less than 1% per hour using AOD. I find this to be extremely acceptable, in fact it's the best standby time I've ever had on a phone.

I really sometimes dont know what's going on with the phone, after flash a lot of different stock roms, the last i flash was XSA Australia ACP8 then update to the last update APGH usually all firmwares in 4G android OS always get high. And today i don't know if was the 2h of phone calls i had the best standby in 4G ever, and Android OS was stable. Coud be the doze is working well.
I didn't know but XSA is like BTU its a clean CSC. I could say its a little better than APGI brazil.

I do not see Service Disabler in play store. Disable Service? Root required?
Yer you need root
