@Galaxo60 - That's great for you - but you must tell us if you are on stock or custom rom and which version phone you have and which update you are on [ Bxxxxxxx ] for this information to be helpful ;)
I was always on stock, never did any development with the phone, but I don't remember the software version because that was a year ago. I just configured the stock settings and applications properly.

;)

I decided to check my idle drain last night. Charged to 100% and left one SIM on with data active. Woke up and looked, it has no battery data to see. A flat line over 7 hours, still on 100%. Not bad
I know. Have that as well. Just beware though, the jump from 100% to 99% can be quite variable and most of the time, is not equivalent to the jump from 99 to 98% and so on.

I've gotten up to 20 min SOT from 100 to 99%. If only it could be liked that for each % drop...

Yes, battery very slowly drops from 100% (about 5-8h), but at any another percentage drops about 0,5%/h with two sim and wifi.

Oh yeah, of course it will drop quickly once you use it, but it can show up misbehaving apps if idle is not efficient. I don't use Gmail app. I have Aquamail Pro. What charger do you guys use? I rarely use the QC3 original part. When I'm home I use a 2.4A generic and most of the time when in Sydney I use a 2A ASUS charger. My QC3 charger stays in my bag so it's with me when out and about if I need it.

When I'm at the office, I often use the USB of the computer. When it's hurry, I use the QC3.

Hi Guys,

I have a battery of 20-40 % over night or when I do nothing on my ZTE Axon 7 and cleared all previous apps running.

In hte battery drain setting menu, I don't see which applications are draining the battery apart from the Android system itself and the ZTE UI interface. For sure I cannot delete those.

Is there any way I can see more details about what happens when I don't use the phone without rooting (don't know how to do)? I even stopped data, bluetooth, wifi but it does the same. Anyone with this issue?

Thanks a bunch!

I'm using Lineage and lose about 2-3% in 8 hours with wifi and network on, BT and NFC off. I've disabled all my app background updates and just do manual updates.

I haven't paid an extremely close attention, but not having any social media apps on my A7 after I set it all up, unlike my Priv (plus its age and 6.0.1), I want to say I probably lose 5, MAYBE tops 10% overnight with all apps closed, wifi on, data on. That said, definitely superb battery life and I can definitely say that it only really drains thanks to the screen when its on.

I'm on B35, Magisk'ed, and otherwise only root-deleted the TouchPal keyboard thing since I read that its updates brought about ads and spyware.

firmware GN B10 -> 30 apk’s manual installed; no wlan; no bt; no bg data; no nfc; ~25% brightness ; no fb/insta/twitter etc. = ~0,4% battery p. h. -> ~10% power consumption p.day.

In other words, leave it in the drawer and don't use it.

Mine is still pretty good on battery drain and general speed/responsiveness etc. It really only drains with screen used so screen and cpu are the major drains.
I wonder how much worse it may be on Oreo even official if it's released.

Wow... i've been browsing on this forum for a year now and had to FINALLY register JUST BECAUSE I WANTED TO REPLY HERE.

My Axon 7 drains over 8 hours night, from 100% to 15-20% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes when I look up cpu usage, it says 50-80% non stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I fking HATE this phone. And I am wondering, guys... HOW THE HELL do you do 1-3% discharge over night?????
I installed the Unofficial Lineage 15.1 ROM, the first ROM i've ever installed. it seems like it doesn't discharge as fast. I haven't tested it over night since I only installed the ROM 2 days ago. But the CPU usage still stays between 20-40% non stop... for no reason....I dunno what to do anymore.

or what is the best rom for the battery that eats the LEAST battery ever??????????

EDIT: Before the new ROM, when I unplugged my phone from the charger and just watched a video for 6 minutes, I lose 10%, 97% of which is Hardware,
The battery consumption said 19% screen, 19% RF Signal, 18 CPU i think, and 18 Standby 18% wifi or so
But how can standby be at 18% when it's not even standby?
Left it off the charger last night for 7 hours - batter only drained 3-4%.

There are so many things to cause battery drain.
I loose from 2-3% overnight.
I'm using the B15 Oreo update atm.

Battery drain can be caused by:
App or apps (chrome is a battery hog on B15, wasn't showing in battery usage but was showing CPU overload)
Cell signal reception (incorrect band setup)
WiFi etc.
Btw a battery will loose power (over time) even switched off.
So my fix is to close or disable any apps not needed (this will vary depending on each person)
I've disabled Mi assistant and several other vendor installed apps.
I use Nova launcher which is light on battery use and it can be customised to suit your needs.
I don't use many widgets, like weather etc.
Hope this helps

My battery is getting worse but I recently installed WhatsApp as my wife and daughter are travelling overseas soon. Now my battery is chewing noticeably faster. It's probably the next biggest drain after the screen and system.

For some reason mine stabilised and now I even have Google app, Maps, Assistant etc all running and standby drain is very minimal. WhatsApp still installed too.
It will chew power with screen on but that's just an Axon 7 thing. That secreen and SoC. It's a pretty old phone.
It runs pretty well with the new battery.
I wouldn't use a custom ROM in mine.
