Try to disable always on display feature and close all background apps. and do not use apps like Clean Master or CM security or Du battery saver, Facebook and whatsapp because these app drain your battery very fast and after closing them they are still in process in background.

The best launcher fo S8 is Only Touchwiz Home and Other Launcher are not recommended
Seems to me like we can also change this setting without nova (off-topic: although I use it as well, great launcher, especially the latest beta), go to settings - connections - mobile networks - uncheck VoLTE calls.
That works on some S8, but on mine and others like mine, that option doesn't show up. That's why I gave the tip above ;)

Best Regards to all

My standby drain during the day is horrendous.. I've noticed that if I put it on airplane mode for the night, it only goes down like 3-4% in 7 hours. I live in an area with really poor service, though. Thought having wifi on would help with that at least a little bit

Been using Nova launcher since beginning and no problems with drain or battery life, thing that eats battery is data network, always hunting for LTE/3G , luckily I have wifi at home and work so data is off, makes a difference for sure.

I've used better battery stats to see wakelocks. In 12h I got 6h30 of wakelocks in sleep. Damn! I don't know which apps are doing this cause I don't have root, still thats a lot, specially cause 95% of my apps are set to be closed when I shutdown my screen

install Naptime from playstore, select aggressive doze etc and see if it helps, and if you can turn data off (use wifi only if available) having data on chows battery.

Its just Samsung or other manufacturer´s also suffer from standby drain? My S8 its terrible. Android system always high. Most wake locks are from Google with Gps position (And yes, i have the maps history disabled).

It's just Samsung. I had a V30 sit on my desk untouched for over a week before it died (phenomenal phone, but I returned it for the S8+ due to its display defects). There was nothing disabled on it, no airplane mode, I just had it face-down so the always on display wouldn't drain it, which is how it should be. We shouldn't have to disable core functionality of our phone just to have it work the way it should.

It's driving me nuts. The standby is way better when I just leave my phone on airplane mode while I sleep, but obviously that isn't feasible in daily use.

Weirdly, the always on display also seems to drain the S8 much faster on an OLED display than the always on display on the G5, which is a completely backlit LCD screen- it makes no sense to me.

If charge my phone to 100% and take it out and sleep for 10 hours with data, 4G and sync turned on I wake up having 97%.
If I do the same but put it on 3G and turn of data and gps I have 99% when I wake up.

I got my S8 on Saturday and I know I've gotta give it time to settle in, but atm the battery is depleting by about 2-3% per hour. Not many apps installed yet as still setting it up, but I left Wifi on over night, as well as the AOD. I think it's more to do with my signal at home though as I live in an apartment which gets very bad signal. It seems to sleep tho according to GSam Battery, and according to my battery usage stats on the stock settings, my biggest battery drainer is Cell standby (which I'm assuming is to do with the signal)

There's not really much I can do about that tho! Not really a problem with the phone tho as I also have poor signal on my OnePlus 3T

Does data being on while connected to wifi have an impact?

My phone seems to drop at least 10% overnight when it's supposed to be sleeping. I use my phone apparently sparingly compared to a lot of people on the internet (1.5-2h SOT usually), have BT on for my Gear S3, am on wifi most of the day, and generally hit like 60-65% battery when I get in bed around 10pm. So from 7:25am-10pm I lose 35-40%, with 1.5ish hours of SOT, some non-BT audiobooks/spotify thrown in there.
It doesn't feel like good usage to me, but I have no idea what to do. Nothing seems out of the ordinary in battery maintenance except one day last week, Android System took a ****load more % than it normally does (15-20 compared to sub-6) for some reason.

Took this screenshot of usage a few weeks ago, but the pattern hasn't really changed beyond a few % here and there. I'm considering trying the post that was mentioned a few times earlier, but I don't know how keen I am on aggressively disabling 90% of the **** on my phone.
