Does greenify works or does anything using agressive doze?
personally speaking, apps like these just gives placebo effect. android has gotten really matured now. you don't need greenify's aggressive doze.
Samsung has something similar inbuilt into their 'Device Maintenance' system.
go to Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > *scroll all the way down* Always Sleeping Apps > *top right 3 dots* Add Apps.

I personally selected all of them including gmail and whatsapp and they work just fine (though whatsapp sometimes don't show notification but shows app dot) but hey, if your are using greenify, this would be a way better solution.

Also, I selected bxAxtion (Bixby remapping app) under Unmonitored App.

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Samsung Galaxy S8's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.

Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Well, I just wanted to share this .. a while ago, I had a huge problem of battery drain. What solved it for me was simple .. complete backup on my PC using Smart Switch, factory reset the phone and then restore .. TA DA! Great battery again :)

I also experience worse battery life since Oreo. Top Drainer is called "Battery on Standby" with 20%. No idea what that means, wasn't there in Nougat.

For me:
Oreo: 2,5% per hour (via AccuBattery) in standby.
Nougat: 1,1% per hour (via AccuBattery) in standby.

Same options enable in both cases (wi-fi, data, gps, sync...)

Running on Oreo as well and have a massive battery drain. I have used my phone today and charged 30% this afternoon. Currently it is on 3% again with just 4,5 hours screen on time.
Did notice the Android system is using up about 500-600 mah daily.

My wife also has a s8 on nougat.
She is watching Netflix all day. Had almost 7 hours screen on time at the moment and still has 28%. Android system is using only 200-300 mah.

Wtf!

Messing up the battery life so everyone will buy the S9?!

I have no issues regarding battery drain, running Oreo this week on my S8, 3% drop in 8 hours overnight

Did you try to wipe the cache partition after ota install

I've been on the Oreo beta for a while, and yes I agree, standby drain is terrible. I figured a factory reset would help, and not load as many apps. Sure enough same thing. Disappointed. I want to upgrade to GS9 Exynos from this SD835

Official Oreo seems to have just as crappy battery life as Nougat on my Verizon variant. I don't know that I'd call it any worse than before, though.

I'm on Oreo, I've installed whats app, instagram, twitter, boost for reddit, waze, telegram, swiftkey, and accubattery. My phone drain about 3%/h while stand by which is a lot, according to accubattery, my device drain 25% while stand by.

Yikes. I woke up in the middle of the night, unplugged because my phone was charged, and my phone dropped from 100% to 88% in just 4 hours and 45 minutes. That's horrendous. Going to try a factory reset tonight and hope it helps, but wow. That's 2.5% an hour doing nothing. It was apparently active for nearly an hour, too.

To compare, my LG G5 on nougat would lose maybe 4% of battery in 8 hours of sleep. How is it that a non-OLED phone can consume less battery with AOD on than an OLED phone? The G5 uses the entire backlight for it..

AOD on, Wifi on, Bixby and Google Voice enabled.. we shouldn't have to disable core features in a phone in 2018 just to get decent battery. I've only owned the phone for 3 or 4 months.

AOD alone uses about 1%/hr so turn that off and you should save 5-10%battery overnight. Why wouldn't you leave the phone plugged in all nigh even if it charged? Once the phone charges, it will shut charging off and kick back in once the battery drops to 99% and top it off again at 100% then stop, endless cycle.

I've always read and heard that while you can't "overcharge" a smartphone battery, it isn't great for the longevity of a battery to constantly be trickle charging like that. It's usually best to keep your lithion ion battery level between 40 and 80%. I really only charge overnight when I have to, like if I was out all night and couldn't charge it.

Regardless, Samsung should care more about battery life. There are phones with AOD that have far better standby battery life and SOT. My previous LG phone and my girlfriend's iPhone 6s have much better battery life. It's unfortunate, they're great phones otherwise. But if you're not going to have a removable battery, at least make it able to last the day.

Well, I don't know why you would want to the battery to stay between 40-80% as lithium ion batteries loose capacity with every charge cycle. On average you will get 300-500 charge cycles before degradation takes over, meaning that the less cycles you have put the battery through, the longer a longer life it will have. Also if want maximum life of you non removable battery, every 30 charge cycles, maybe once month, you should let the battery discharge to the point of turning off and then fully charge it as to keep it the battery and gauge in your phone calibrated (you don't have to discharge as that's a cycle but sometime needed). Either way, what were both talking about is a mute point, battery is replaceable if you really want to and that your phones battery should last 2 years with charging it overnight every day/every other day, I've always charged ALL my phones overnight and never had I needed to replace a battery nor did i loose capacity to the point of noticing (you might loose 10-20% rated capacity over the 2 years). I can easily get 7 hours of SOT on this phone and is the best out of all I had. Everyone has different results and heat is your batteries worst enemy, if this were 10 years ago then yes, batteries were like as you say and you would prolly pay more attention but not now. I's not saying your wrong, just giving some extra information.

I lose about 3% an hour while I sleep. No other phone I've owned has drained that much.

I'm sure it's an app sucking the juice out of it.... I've restored it back to clean factory setting 3 times, after a few weeks it always goes back to about 3% an hour.

I uses Gsam battery monitor, but it shows nothing out of the ordinary other than: System, Samsux DeX (which I don't use), or the Kernel is usually really high.

I LOVE everything else about this phone, other than this.
Hello ,I just bought an S8 active off ebay, pretty mint condition of I can say so...fast forward about 1 week and I realized that I get stellar on screen time compared to my s7 edge ,but miserable standby time .i enabled the data toggle (since this is an at&t model)I installed greenfy and also gsam(both with required permissions),but I still consume more than 1 procent per hour.this really bugs me,a normal app like AliExpress on my other phone consume almoast nothing ,the built in powersaver said 0 procent (my phone has a 2 year old battery)and on this phone with it's massive 4000mah battery it consumes about 2 procent .My averege off screen consumption is about 70mah/h .it should be considered that I have the exynos version of the s7
