Standby drain

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the HTC U11's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.

Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Just got it 2 days ago and it goes from 100% to 80% over night. Battery usage shows it's constantly waking up. Major consumer was Cell Standby and Android OS. The cell bar was green though over night (and the reception where it lies is generally good). And it was connected to Wifi (with data saver enabled).

I hope this doesn't stay like that. Quite disappointed. I haven't installed many other apps to cause that, well, Facebook, but still. It's worse than my previous N5X so far in that regard.

If you have high standby drain and your provider supports WiFi calling, put the radio into airplane mode and use WiFi calling whenever you can. I'm already 10 minutes over my previous SoT record of 8h4m at 1% where I didn't do any gaming and I spent 2h21m in Endless Frontier on this charge and this phone takes awhile to hit 1% (GSam is estimating another hour of battery life and the phone is reading 5%).

You can also experiment with *#*#4636#*#* settings. I have a feeling WCDMA preferred would increase battery life vs auto but not as much as WiFi only obviously.

I was battery drain like you but after updated to 1.27 it seems fixed the problem, now I only drain 3% over night.

You think I should select LTE only for Verizon?

Airplane mode turns off WiFi doesn't it?

LTE only for Verizon since there is no CDMA support makes sense, airplane mode turns off Wi-Fi but you can turn it back on manually and leave the cellular radio off still.

~ 7 hours of sleep time, 3% battery drained.
WiFi off, location on ( precise mode ), cellular signal on and mediocre signal reception in my room, mobile data off.

Pretty good if you ask me.

It's so weird to me how much the media and people talk about how the u11 doesn't support cdma, when it supports it just fine. Or am I missing something?

Verizon hasn't actually allowed the device on their network, only B13 LTE because of open access rules forcing them to. So while it supports CDMA (as we know from specs and the fact Sprint sells it with full CDMA), HTC is selling the U11 to Verizon customers as being compatible when in reality, Verizon hasn't actually whitelisted it for their network. It doesn't use CDMA or band 2 and 4 LTE, just band 13.

Yes Verizon is pretending to finally let us bring our own device but refuse us full access, only band 13 and no one will tell us the truth as to why. It has been an absolutely horrible experience for us Verizon users who love HTC and love this phone. We need a savior.

HTC keeps telling me it's not a cdma device, it is gsm that is why we only get band 13. I've talked to so many HTC reps and Verizon reps and no one will tell us the truth. They keep blaming each other.
