Standby drain

Thx for reply !
Last question…Is the 8.5hrs battery life run in Wifi or LTE? I found my battery is pretty good in Wifi with almost 10 hrs sot but only 5hrs in LTE for daily use (if keeping using the phone in LTE ,it will be 8-9hrs like.'Network stanby' is the battery killer )
I get about 30 hours with 8.5-10 hours sot on Wi-Fi and about 24-26 hours with 6-8 hours sot on LTE only. Either way, for the first time in my life I never have to worry about running out of battery. A quick hour charge every night before bed and I'm good for at least 24 hours. No need for a bigger battery unless you are stranded somewhere without a car lol. Best battery life I've ever had.

High Drain

I'm on android oreo and had about 1-2% drain over night. but suddenly it was about 40-50% checking detailed battery logs it seemed like mobile data was the problem. after letting the phone in airplane mode over night, the drain reduced to ~15 percent, which still seems too much. After checking the battery logs again, wakelocks for location serivces showed up. After clearing google play services data, this was gone, too.
Battery drain over all is still high though. Guess I'll have to factory reset it soon, will monitor until then.

Hello all!
I just cant understand this Android thing. We should have a tool to know what is draning the batery.
My HTC U11 is a dual sim 128Gb 6 Gb ram, all original oreo.
And on standby screen of, I loose almost 3% per hour...
I see the grafics on the batery and it happens 2 strange things, some times it stays awake withou deep sleep for ours and ours, on the other hand other times when i use it it looks like its on deep slepp. :(
anyway i cant understand so much batery drain withou using it.....
any ideas?
many thanks.

Without a BBS log I can only guess, but google background backups would be the first suspect I'd name. Just check out if turning off backups in Google photos backup helps. Especially if you are connected to Wi-Fi and recorded some videos in 4K, thats enough to keep the phone awake for hours. Around one percent drain per hour is considered normal as a rule of thumb. Better Battery stats gives you insights on what keeps your phone awake. All apps coded by facebook are infamous battery drainers. I don't use Facebooks spyware. Unless the phone is syncing while I sleep my standby time is really good.

I get about .5-1% per hour overnight. In deep sleep over 90% of the time when screen is off. I use boost+ to kill background apps for almost every app except for ones that need to run. 50% autobrightness.

Google showed that many devices with same problem when updated to O.
Waiting for Android 8.1 update..

US unlocked running the latest update (2.42.xxx.6) and I've been getting great battery life. The only downside of such great battery life is having to charge it at inconvenient times of the day

I took my phone off charge this morning battery was 100% left it for 15 minutes and lost 2% in that short time. Anyone else experience this? Afterwards it does settle down with about 0.5%/hr standby drain. Running rooted Leedroid with Cleanslate kernel. Will get wakelock details on the next charge

Found the culprit to be Google play services wakelock fixed with greenify donate version

Just started randomly on my U11 running LeeDroid latest stable Oreo and cleanslate v3.7.16, has happened twice now not sure what's triggering this to happen it's keeping the phone awake.
Reboot fixed it last time, still need to figure out what has caused it.

Shows up under Kernel wakelock.

Stopper after a reboot. Curious to know if anyone else has had this issue.

I have about the same problem with my U11 for months . I tried multiple roms ( official or not ) but the problem persists, so i thought first that the battery was defective. However after i replaced myself the battery i tested the device and.... The problem persists so i suspected an hardware issue.

I tested the bottom board where the usb connector is located, there is multiple elements connected to it like the buttons, the fingerprint sensor, the vibration motor, etc...

I disconnected most of them alternatively and the only 2 ways i got a normal battery drain was when i unpluged the main command cable or the power cable. ( When i unplug the finger sensor or the buttons, the drain persists so they are not in cause. )

I think that the board needs to be replaced so i ordered one on AliExpress for about 18€ and now i'm waiting for it.

I'm not good at electronic things but i test and i observe the results.

Im in desperate need or help about this. Past couple of weeks i have been losing about 20% an hour in standy. with battery saver mode on. I cant pin point it to an app or a service causing it. Also it started saying rapid charging. but in fact its charging slowly.

im using latest lineage build rom

Hi DEADLYNOUNOU,

have you had any success with replacing the USB and charger board in your device ? Very interested in your feedback!

I am experiencing the same topic. 5-6% drain per hour in (usually) deep sleep... Not extremely much but way to high compared with before.
Have been experiencing with ROMs, cache delete, network reset and quite some App changing but always exactly the same behavior.
I do think now it is HW related.

Additionaly I had a few days sometimes a message saying, something is wrong with the charger or the USB plug, remove it to avoid damages on the charging function.
This is gone since 3 weeks and it is still charging - quickly and slowly - but now i have this poor drain.
Maybe a leakage current on a somehow damaged USB and charger board....

Thanks
R.

I had the same problem. Change USB port resolved it.

Hi 4squer!

Thank you! just to double check. You kept your battery and only replaced the USB board?

A thirty bucks ebay board did the job ?

Thanks!
R.
Hi. I changed battery 2 times, but that doesn't resolved problem. Than I changed USB port with new battery, but I'm sure that the problem was USB port. I bought original port, but not on eBay.

Mine is doing a little better than before.
1% battery drain per idle hour against 2.5% on Oreo.
Same location, same carrier, same settings, everything the same.
