Try turning off AOD. Device idle is normal, when you pull phone from charger, it starts counting, simple (except 14% battery used). I listened to couple people on forum, and turned high peformance mode on. I can say for now that it is better.

Thanks for your reply. I thought it didn't work but after a second charge to 100% it seemed to have fixed the issue. I have also put 'optimised' back as high performance was a tad too bright at times. I'll give it a few more full cycle charges before turning on the AOD again. Thanks for your help.

I am using high performance mode for almost 5 days, and it is better for me. You can set up brightness in each mode. But it is never to bright, summer is comming :D.

wooot....howw ?
Monitored the wake locks and stopped things from working in the background that shouldn't be. I also soft blocked bixby. That's the quick fix. I did a bunch of other things too, but stopping the wake locks and negating background use made the most impact.

Rooted device?
0.2% per hour is bloody awesome! I get 1.2% per hour but thats with AOD still pretty huge!

I turned off AOD for a few days and I am getting 0.2% drain per hour of deep sleep. Are there any AOD mods to keep it at lowest brightness, I noticed AOD is a little too bright at times.

0.2% drain per hour of deep sleep?????
how?? at about 1% / hour
I get similar (0.2/hr) or better. Updated to latest OS update. Keep everything stock otherwise. I don't use third party monitoring crap because it can do just fine with a combination of Samsung's power saver along with Android settings .. works for me (I use what the phone already has otherwise it's just adding unneeded bloat).

Settings > Connections > Data Usage > Data Saver "On"

Power Saving: Medium with all apps monitored (disabled in background).

All apps in settings:. Disable background data manually.

I get anywhere from a day or two from full charge so it's about as aggressive as Huawei phones for not having stuff running all the time.

Im really frustrated with my exynos note 8's batterylife. Im getting only about max 4h of sot. Im mostly using samsung internet, instagram...
Screen resolution fhd+, usually brightness only 50%.
Solid 4g network, [email protected] home, bt on all the time( connected to gear s3).
No gaming, no gps usage..
I've done factory resets, i've installed latest firmware with odin and still oreo is sooooo sucking up the battery like crazy.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Chrome has a higher drain per hour than Samsung's browser, so you could disable it and just use the latter.

Your deep sleep could be higher too (mine is 94%, for example). You can use the Note 8's built-in app power saver to put some of the more active apps to sleep. I usually just put most to sleep by pressing 'save power', along with a few permanent exceptions in the 'unmonitored' group and some other stuff I don't care about in the 'always sleeping' category.

My auto-brightness is usually closer to 30% too (although I do use WQHD+ instead of FHD).

i had very bad standby drain before i turned off "allow background activity" for Instagram...after turning off i had way better standby drain.Instagram had 11 hours and 52mins of background use and 18mins of active use.whereas Whatsapp had 5 hours and 14mins of background use and 43mins of active use.(weird thing is i use Whatsapp more than Instagram)

around 23 hours and 35mins on battery with 4hours and 27mins of Screen usage.

Just switching off Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Facebook services on the "Allow background" activity and nothing else. I wish AOD would be more power efficient.

So I've just received a Note 8 and installed all updates on it. I feel like my battery is ok in standby but as soon as i begin using the phone, it probably drains about 1% every 4 to 5 minutes once the screen is being used. Does anyone else find this is an issue? I also restored a backup from a Xiaomi phone that had no battery issues. Do anyone think it's worth resetting the phone and installing all applications from scratch one at a time?

What is your brightness set to? And what app(s) are you using when it drains at 1% every 5 minutes? Some apps drain faster than others...
