Standby drain

Hmm...after a few days, I think standby of htis phone isn't that great. I can do a number of things and probably lengthen the phone's life...but....I prefer to have bixby waiting for me to call, brightness at 50% and the resolution of the screen maxed! It just looks so pretty lol. I used bk disabler to disable a few apps but I still find standby to be lacking. Doesn't last me the whole day...screen on times are about 3 to 5...depending on how I use it...
Ok, update....I usually turn off auto sync, but I only found out today that I had it on the whole time. Turning it off saw a noticeable difference in battery drain. Worth a look checking out your auto sync settings in Accounts.

I'm getting over 4 days now on mine. Started out a disappointment, but has progressively gotten better. I also turned off almost all access to the notification bar except what I wanted.

I have BT on, WiFi and Location off. I also only manually sync, except Calendars and contacts are auto.

I also ran it down to shutoff 3 x. It got better everytime I ran it down to shutoff.

That's great. Can you please share your settings in terms of:
1 - Resolution: balls to the wall full resolution
2 - SoT form that screenshot: 2 hours as of now, I included an updated screen shot in this reply
3 - Wifi: It's on while I'm home, off when I'm out of the house
4 - BT: Only on when I'm in my car. Commute time to and from work/school is around 20 min each way.
5 - NFV: Did you mean NFC? I never use it. It's always off.
6 - Mobile Data: It stays on. I never touch the setting. Switches to 4g when I turn off Wifi (when I'm not home).
7 - Location (accuracy setting): Battery saving unless I need to use Google Map navigation then I turn on High accuracy.
8 - Google assistant on/off: Off
9 - Bixby on/off: On but not voice wakeup. Only launches through the button.
10 - Screen brightness: When I'm home it stays at 40%, when I'm outside during the day it's at 100%, when I'm outside after sunset it stays at 20%.
11 - AOD on/off: I keep that ***** off, not worth the juice. I have a wristwatch.
12 - Google Device Manager (find my phone) on/off: I never use that.

Thanks mate that's some good info.

We'll you're really getting great standby times which allows the long battery life.
I think it's due to 2 main things - your location is set to battery saving and your AOD is off.
You also switch off Wifi when out which should save a lot of the infamous Android "travel" drain.

Yeah I don't know why folks don't turn that off when they get outside their house. I see making these simple, quick switches on my way out the door the same way as making sure I have my car's key fob, home keys and wallet, along with my phone, of course.

I've had the note 8 for 2 weeks now and i have the feeling the stand by time is pretty good. The phone i had before is an s7 edge which was not bad in that department. The note 8 is not getting more battery life with usage, but standby is better. I'm usually at 60-80% at the end of the day with light use and everything on (bluetooth, wifi, data, nfc, location precision, AOD, 2 sim cards). I do have a wireless charger in my car, so it's kind of hard to see.

I'm having really fast battery drain due to google play services. Done all the usual stuff (I think), but it still persists. Phone is 3 days old. 1.5 hours of standby = 16-20% of battery drained. I found that my main google account (I have 2 on the phone) was having the dreaded sync issue, so I fixed that, but the battery is still draining quickly.

I have an S8+ and it is set up identically and that does not have the same issue.

I'm getting rather poor battery life on my note 8. I think it is related to Android system and Android OS wakelocks.
I get 4.5h SOT tops on 4g data, 40-50% brightness,AOD on and medium power saving.
On Wi-Fi, no power saving,40-50 brightness,AOD on, I get 5h30 SOT max.

Fg_fullcapnom is 3253 mAh and fg_cycle is 8.

Gsam shows that the phone is awake when the screen is turned off and apparently there are no rogue apps.

According to gsam in 1h30 of usage, the screen uses 45% of the battery, mobile radio 5% and apps use 50%.
Background battery usage is 12.8% for Android system,9% Android OS and the apps such as tapatalk, Samsung browser, Twitter don't have more than 4%.
Background cpu usage is 8.5 min for kernel (Android os) and 3.5 min for Google play services.

What can I do? Is my battery faulty? I see people doing 6+h of SOT and that's impossible for me

Tapatalk doesn't let me upload screenshots :/
