Care to share your settings? I'd love to know how you are getting this much battery life! Very impressed!

Thanks
I get almost 5 days out of mine. Well past 4 days. I would get 5 if I didn't recharge at 15% or so.

All the settings as shown in this thread, plus NFC off, or on as needed, GPS off unless needed, WiFi off unless needed, always on screen off, no edge, and very important... only Calendars syncing. No mail sync, only on demand.

My Note 5 and 7 were better...

The Note 8 standby time isn't as good as my S8+ yet, but it's only gone through one or two charging cycles. My S8+ would drop from 100% to 98% in a 10 hour period over night. The Note 8 drops about 8% in the same amount of time. As I said previously I have been using the S8+ since the 14th of April and the Note is still new. I have also disabled quite a few services on both phones and they are bone stock with just Substratum and a few layers installed.
Could you share with us a .xml list of what bloat you have disabled or if screenshots are easier.
Much appreciated

I'm having really fast battery drain due to google play services. Done all the usual stuff (I think), but it still persists. Phone is 3 days old. 1.5 hours of standby = 16-20% of battery drained. I found that my main google account (I have 2 on the phone) was having the dreaded sync issue, so I fixed that, but the battery is still draining quickly.

I have an S8+ and it is set up identically and that does not have the same issue.
What did you do for the sync issue I am having the same problem all of the sudden. I was getting great battery life till a week ago.

I've disabled all of knox, secure folder, all of bixby, ant radio, all the t-mobile bloat, all the edge panels except for apps edge, email, device unlock, samsung internet, briefing, android pay and photos. BK Disabler has one whole heading titled bloat and all of that you are able to safely disable. Some of what I disabled you may use, just be careful as one thing you disable may be needed by another app then you need to figure out which one it was.

Turns out there were two problems, one account wasn't syncing properly, so had to completely delete it and re-add it. I also had to clear the cache and data for the google play services. It was only after rebooting that this was fixed. Battery liufe much better, but still not as good as my S8+.

I don't really see the point of buying a smartphone and shutting off all the 'smart' things for the sake of not plugging in.

For me, I don't charge overnight as lithium-polymer batteries prefer to stay outside of the upper SOC. My phone sits by my beside, with wifi-on and AOD. I usually go to bed with about 40% and wake to about 30%.

30 minutes on the charger at that point gets it to a useful 80% and that usually is done on my commute. I may also put the phone on the charger occasionally throughout the day (1 more 30 minutes session) so I can leave work with it at about 80% charge.

So, I charge just about 1 hour per day and my phone battery never reaches 4.35v. I'll likely have a strong battery still 2 years later with this charge profile. Samsung already claims 95% capacity with normal charging and use patterns. My phone has a great chance of meeting those claims.

You charge to 80% from what base line figure?

Also do you slow charge it?

It depends on what's convenient to me. I usually drive or sit on a bus twice a day totaling over 1.5 hours which is ample time. Charging in the fastest charging segments of the battery makes it more time efficient for me. But I generally want to keep it above 30% for usability-sake. The upper end generally depends on timing. I'll go up as high as 95%, but tend to stick to 80-85% and pull it off. It's dreadfully slow from 85% and up.

I'm getting rather poor battery life on my note 8. I think it is related to Android system and Android OS wakelocks.
I get 4.5h SOT tops on 4g data, 40-50% brightness,AOD on and medium power saving.
On Wi-Fi, no power saving,40-50 brightness,AOD on, I get 5h30 SOT max.

Fg_fullcapnom is 3253 mAh and fg_cycle is 8.

Gsam shows that the phone is awake when the screen is turned off and apparently there are no rogue apps.

According to gsam in 1h30 of usage, the screen uses 45% of the battery, mobile radio 5% and apps use 50%.
Background battery usage is 12.8% for Android system,9% Android OS and the apps such as tapatalk, Samsung browser, Twitter don't have more than 4%.
Background cpu usage is 8.5 min for kernel (Android os) and 3.5 min for Google play services.

What can I do? Is my battery faulty? I see people doing 6+h of SOT and that's impossible for me

Tapatalk doesn't let me upload screenshots :/

Turn off AOD
AOD is important to me so it is not worth turning it off.

By the way, over the last days i have seen that "Android OS" has been eating more battery % than Screen. SOT has gotten worse. Does anyone know why?

Is this normal? Can anyone help me?
