How to activate Google Services on Huawei Mate 30 Pro?

Tutorial I. Link to the video tutorial by GATAL Gadged Digital https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivpNP7wFE9I&t=939s

Tutorial II. Link to the video tutorial by Imran : https://youtu.be/ZYhlr_BQGlw

Please see the video and the steps simultaneously and try to understand the steps and I wish you all the luck that you get it in the 1st attempt. ( I got it in the 4th attempt :)

Step 1 - Download LZPlay.rar and Google Applications from this link below : ( LINK UPDATED )

Step 2 - Extract the above files to your root directory / External USB drive / External SD Card .

Step 3 - The above step will create a folder named Huawei LZPlay and inside there is a folder "Huawei" and further into that, all the back up files required.

Step 4 - Restore Back-Up : Go to settings > On the search bar on the top type in Restore > USB Drive > You should get the file " Mate 30 Pro ( Dated - March,7 2020 ) > Click and Restore

Problem : Please note that you might encounter a possible error where some users may not find the back up file being detected while restoration process because the Huawei Back-Up file cannot be read unless not placed in the root directory.

( SEE VIDEO I @ 2:49 WHERE THE CREATOR IS MENTIONING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM )

Solution - Go to root directory / USB Drive > Huawei LZPlay > Copy the Huawei Folder outside in your root directory. In other words, remove it from the Huawei LZPlay folder and paste in USB Drive / Internal Storage (if you do not have access to an OTG Drive ) and then go to settings and try to restore the back up, it will show )

Step 5 - When done, Go to your app drawer, Click on the Chinese G - Icon which you have restored from the LZPlay.rar Back Up File in step 4.
Allow Permissions > Activate > Back to Home Screen > Close All Applications in Background > Open G - Icon App Again > Press the Blue Button Below > The List Starts Circling > ( See video for more clarity ) (SEE VIDEO @ 4:40 )

Step 6 - Now minimize this app and go to Files > USB Drive > Google Installation > Google Installation and You will see files numbered (1-9) .
Please install 1 to 6 one by one as shown in video. Do not open any of the applications. Just install them. ( SEE VIDEO @ 5:19)

Step 7 - Once Installation for apps 1 to 6 done, close all background applications. Now go to G Icon App again and press the blue button below and minimize.

Step 8 - Google Account Sign- in : After Step 9, Go to Phone Settings > User and Accounts > Add Account > Google > Add an existing.
Loading screen for adding new account for 30 secs notification will appear > Add as many accounts you wish to now as you can't add anymore later. ( SEE VIDEO @ 6:45 )

Step 9 - After your account is added successfully, CLEAR BACKGROUND APPS AND THEN GO to File > USB drive > Google Installation > Google Installation > and install Google Services Framework from Google Installation folder in your External USB Drive / SD Card ( File 7 ) ( SEE VIDEO @ 10:00 )

Step 10 - As soon as you install, within a few minutes you start getting annoying pop up notifications ( SEE VIDEO @ 10:35) which is very normal so ignore that and move on with the next steps. You may see in the background that your Play Store is getting updated - Let it update - If it's not updating - No problem. ( Please give this process atleast 5 mins with patience or else you might have to do the whole thing again )

Step 11 - Now open Play Store > Download an app Device ID ( By VTechno ) ( SEE VIDEO @ 11:40 )

Step 12 - Once installed, CLEAR BACKGROUND APPS AND THEN Open Device ID app and Grant Permission > ALLOW . NOW, You will see your unique GSF-ID in the second row under Android Device ID . ( Just for your information ) ( SEE VIDEO @ 12:10 )

Step 13 - Now go to Phone Settings > Apps > and search for "Google Play Services and Uninstall it". ( SEE VIDEO @ 12:58 )

Step 14 - Now go to Files > USB Drive > Google Installations > Google Installations > Install GMS Core Mod 1 ( SEE VIDEO @ 13:38)

POP-UP Notifications will still keep coming. DONT WORRY. We are almost there !

Step 15 - Go Back to your home screen after installation and go to Device ID . You will see the GSF ID is still there. So now its time to make it dissappear :D

Step : 16 - Go to Settings > Apps > On the top right, click on the three dots and enable " Show system processes " > Search for Google Services Framework > Storage > Clear Cache > Clear Data

Step 17- Now Open Device ID - You see your GSF ID must dissappear . ( SEE VIDEO @ 14:37 )

Step 18 - CLEAR BACKGROUND APPS AND Now Open Playstore > Wait for 3-5 minutes and you will get an error in Play Store. If not, then close Playstore again > Open Device ID > Then Open Playstore again > Wait for error > Like Seriously HOLD ON .( YOu might have to repeat this 2/3 times )

*********** MOST IMPORTANT STEPS*************

Step 19 - NOW IF YOU GOT THE ERROR SUCCESSFULLY ON THE PLAYSTORE APP, ITS TIME TO WAIT FOR YOUR GSF-ID TO SHOW AGAIN IN THE DEVICE ID APP. THEREFORE, OPEN DEVICE ID - CHECK - IF NO GSF ID STILL - OPEN PLAYSTORE - CLICK "RETRY" ON ERROR MESSAGE > GO BACK TO HOME SCREEN AND CLEAR ALL BACKGROUND APPS > OPEN DEVICE ID - CHECK AGAIN - AND REPEAT THE ABOVE .

Explanation to Step 19 - What we are actually doing in the above step is that we purposely cleared the cache and data from Google Services Framework in Step 18 so that the GSF-ID dissappears and Play Store stops working and gives us error message (to fix the pop up notifications ) and then we wait for the Google Services Framework to reboot and fix itself in the background and collect new data. That is why we keep closing and opening both apps. However, you need to remember, you always open Device ID first > then Playstore > Click Retry > Close all from background and then repeat until you see the GSF-ID again ! :fingers-crossed:

Step 20 - Once it does, your Playstore will start working and you will notice that the "ANNOYING POP UP NOTIFICATIONS" are gone ! Take your time and open Playstore and see if notifications pop up.

PLEASE NOTE : IT SHOULD NOT SHOW POP UP ERRORS ANYMORE . IF IT DOES, YOU MESSED UP STEP 18 BUT First Uninstall Google Services Framework and then install it again from USB Drive and Repeat Step 19 :(

IF EVERYTHING GOES WELL AND NOTIFICATIONS GONE, FOLLOW THESE STEPS NEXT

Step 21 - Now close the apps and clear background apps and go to Settings > Apps > Search for Google Play Services ( Not Playstore ) > Uninstall It.

Step 22 - Now go to USB Drive > Google Installations > Install File 9 ( Play services MOD 2 and restart your device without opening the playstore ) <----- Do this only if your pop up notifications stopped.

[B Congratulations ! We have now successfully completed all the steps ! ENJOY ! Install and test all google apps you want except Google Play Movies which has been disabled.

If you tried this method, then everything should work perfectly fine except Google Play Movies.

Google location works
Google Maps work fine and flawlessly
Google Play Video Works ( Play Movies & TV - if that's what you mean, works fine )
Google Pay Works ( I'm not sure because we don't use it my country )
Netflix ( Newest version doesn't but a earlier version works )

No you cannot delete Accounts Manager App

NO you cannot update Google Play Services through Playstore.

Once this method has been done, then you can update and use all Google Applications on Playstore like normal.

Yes I ment google play movies .
maps works well but inside maps there is a feature to share your location with ppl . That feature doesn't work .
Google pay works but can't make in store payments.

Yes uninstall everything ( Google Services Apps ) not your personal apps . Also the LZPlay app and give it a try.

Remember to carefully read and watch the video and go through it . You will make it.

I think it seems that you are unsucesfully doing that. You can restart again from the beginning. That message indicates that it is failed.

It there away to do this without a otg USB?
Thanks
You can copy "Huawei" folder containing four different sub folder into your internal device. Copy and replace the old file. After that open Backup app in your device. The rest will be just following the steps above.

A YouTube user called Nikola Dimitrov said that Google blocked this way at feedbacks's method, is it true?.

It is most definitely NOT blocked. I have had GSM on my Mate 30 Pro since February. I deleted Google Services data today and the popups and errors started constantly. I tried to restore a backup from HiSuite and that did not make a difference. So I followed the instructions in the video, without wiping my device and all is good. I have GSM installed again without errors and as I said on another thread, Gmail notifications are working. It took about 30 minutes to come through, but it did.
    2
I have GMS installed and working well without popups etc for almost a month. Is it possible to change my google password now on the device without breaking anything?

Password can be changed as normal. Change first with Google on a PC, then change on the device.

    ---------- Post added at 22:07 ---------- Previous post was at 22:03 ----------

I tried all the methods (I mean all! several time each method) listed here on XDA. No luck!!! At the last step, errors start again. Also the newest .
I need help (or I will sell the Mate 30 Pro 5G)

Here are instructions for the process. The video tutorial is here, though in Greek. He's using a P40 Pro, but the files from backup are Mate 30 pro. Follow the instructions and it will work. If the link for the download in the video does not work, I have uploaded the files HERE. The password is: a1234567890

    1. Connect the USB STick and wait for our device to recognize it.
    2. Next go to Settings-System and Updates-Create backups and restore.
    3. Select data recovery-external storage unit-USB storage space
    4. We choose to restore from a backup that will show us.
    5. The code is a1234567890
    6. We return to the home screen, and there will now be an application with G as a logo and some Chinese characters. This is LzPlay.
    7. We choose to open it, we expect it to ask us for an activation license as a device administrator.
    8. We choose to allow access to the data of our device. We do nothing else on LzPlay and just exit the application
    9. Return to the folder we went to the USB Stick, through the "Files" application
    10. Go to the Huawei folder and install applications 1 to 4
    11. Go to device settings, "Users and accounts". There is now the option to add a Google account
    12. We add as many accounts as we want to our device.
    13. Return to the Huawei folder and install the 005 application
    14. We open the Play store and wait until it "loads" and opens normally.
    15. Go to Settings in Apps-Apps-select in the upper right corner the three dots and “Show System Processes ”
    16. Find Google Play Services and delete it
    17. Return to the Huawei folder and install the 006 application
    18. We return to the settings and Apps-Apps- again display system processes.
    19. Find and delete “Google services Framework”
    20. Return to the Huawei folder and reinstall 005
    21. We put the phone in Offline mode, and make sure it has no access to wi-fi network or mobile network
    22. Go to Settings-Apps-Apps-Show System Processes again and find and delete Google Play Services
    23. Go to the Huawei folder and install the latest application, 007
    24. Restart the device, and after opening it, turn on wi-fi again
    25. It is now ready to download everything from the Play Store

Works very well if you follow the steps very carefully. Thanks
However almost none of the push notifications work, any advice?
Yes I have allowed notifications and adjusted the battery settings to allow for background apps, auto start up of apps and disabled application suspend state for battery saving purposes.)

As of now, it's working for some and not for the others.

Mine's not work as well but C'mon. You can see people are working hard behind and round the clock to find a solution.

Let's just adjust ? It's not an official breakthrough so can't really keep the expectations that high .

On the brighter side aleast all the apps are working and updating through the playstore. I'm Happy about that.

thank you OP for taking the time tom post this. Need to ask you a few things:

    1) As the process has changed in recent months, is this the msot up to date method? Ie, are you updating this post accordingly?

    2) Have you verified if there are existing bugs with ANY GMS applications, or discovered things that ARE NOT working after following the procedure? I personally want to make sure the procedure is fullproof and that I won't run into basic notification issues, or app crashes if i was to perform this on a new phone out of box with no existing modifications.

    3) This is an early post by me, so forgive me for not reading the entire post I have quoted a part of - but have you tried, or are you successfully running systemless root on the device? Can you receive OTA updates?

    Thanks
    RoOSTA

    1. Yes .

    2. Currently using it . Everything works fine. ( Except the push notifications alert from Gmail and Facebook which doesn't matter to me )

    3. As of now there are no updates even officially as per my knowledge. ( Even if there was one I would avoid it as I have faced alot of troubles using apps without Google Services on the factory setup ).

Lastly, This doesn't void your warranty or has anything to do with rooting. I bought my phone about 15 days back and I had the same concern as you did.

Gotta do what you gotta do and stay in the game. I have tried the original setup for a few days and then moved to these methods.

    It's only evolving.

Until Huawei and Google wants to work together and I hope very soon we won't be needing any of this. So for now, these walk-arounds are the only way.
