Status 7 error with CM 11 on NOOK HD+

Being this my first tablet, I decided to install kit kat on it and play around a bit with this ROM.
Thanks for this noob-proof guide to getting CM 11 on the NOOK HD+. I followed all the steps on the guide, however I couldn't flash the ROM from the internal zip, I got a status 7 error on CWM while attempting this.
I was wondering if I should try to modify the updater script, copy the ROM to the SD card and try again or just download another version of CM 11 and try to install it from the SD card.
Any thoughts?

No - either way it works fine for me
Ok good to know!
Real noob question here:confused: Once you burn the bootable image onto the SDcard, the capacity changes and I'm not sure if I can copy additional files onto the SDcard. I only have a 2GB card that will boot. Is it simply a matter of using one SDcard to boot and once you're in CMW, swap it out for one containing the files?
Thanks to everyone for your help here.

I don´t know if it is just me...
Im using CWM 6.0.4.6 and when I swap out the card and put another one in, the card doesnt get recognized anymore....
I would try and see if it works on your device.

I am using EMMC version 6.0.4.6 I am getting the status 7 error also and I figured out it is because the CWM Recovery Image linked is only version 6. If someone could link the CWM Recovery version that is needed for this then that would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Booting from one card, zips on another.

I've had no luck at all booting from one card, then trying to install zips from another card. I think the tablet is using the image from the original card only, and won't run files that weren't there on boot up. Just my experience, maybe I'm missing something.

I'm also getting the Status 7 error when trying to flash the ROM. I'm not sure how to tell which version CWM is beyond version 6. I used the one in the link provided at the beginning of this thread. Anyone have any ideas?

This is the one that finally worked for me here it has a letter "b" at the end and is installed into emmc. I couldn't get the sd cwm recovery to work very well other than to backup and install this recovery. Everything is simple now, I just power off my nook, hold vol- and "n" while pressing power until I see the cyanoboot logo, then I let go of power and continue holding the vol- and "n" until cwm opens. It took me a few hours to figure out the right combination of sd, recovery, and rom etc, but I got KitKat now! :D:sly:

Install from external

Thanks for the link. I take it I'm going to need to restore my original Nook OS in order to copy this file to the internal SD card?
Maybe not, you can if you want, but I just did this: Don't burn an image onto SD or anything, just format your SD on PC (Fat32), then use a parttion manager program (like Easus Partition Free and set the SD card's partition to "Active", then Copy these files, not the folder, just the files (MLO first, then the rest), then copy the zip file from my last post right onto the SD with the other files. power on your nook and it should boot right into recovery, then install the recovery zip from external. Note: I have read and tried so many things and apparently Nook HD+'s are a finicky lot. Sometimes it takes a few startups to get to recovery. You, for instance, might be able to just flash your ROM from the SD recovery, so you might want to put your ROM zip onto the SD as well. I could't, but I actually prefer having the emmc recovery anyway. Here is CM 11 version I am on if you want it, just released 2 days ago and it's pretty stable. And Gapps. The only thing I've found that doesn't work is the camera.:silly:lol. Everything else works as expected. Anyway, hope I helped, I am also new to this, but together we can all help each other
@saboratorista @rogerlig @alegend1979 @QuickSilverAWD You guys might want to give this a shot too if you're having trouble

Thank you for the suggestion. It sounded a little more challenging for me than just doing a restore to stock, so I opted for the latter but it's not working. It says that the restore was successful, but every time I reboot it it just boots back into recovery. Is there a trick to restoring to stock?

Try clearing your dalvik cache and cache. That's worked for me before

SD Card removed, charger unplugged?

Sent from my BN NookHD+ using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I've tried it with the SD card in and the charger plugged in, as well as without the SD card in and the charger unplugged. Either way, it just keeps flashing the "nook" screen for a while, then eventually goes back into recovery.

I'm stumped. Maybe re-restore from backup or flash CM 10 or 11 ROM. I also backup all my apps and data with Go Backup or titanium backup as a little insurance just in case my nandroids don't work. Good luck to ya

Thank you for trying, I appreciate the help. Does anyone else have any ideas? I followed the instructions to a "T", but I'm dead in the water currently.

EDIT: I was able to successfully restore it to stock, thanks to TheJeremyWhite. I unplugged the charger and removed the SD card, then re-ran the restore and rebooted. I'm now going to try flashing CM with the newer CWM version.

Well, I'm back to square 1. I used the flash_recovery_ovation_CWM_6.0.4.5b_internal.zip but I'm still getting the "Status 7" error when trying to flash CM 11. Should I try a newer version of CWM? And where could I get one?

I am having the status 7 error still after I loaded the recovery listed above. I luckily loaded my sd card with all the files needed for CM11 and CM10.2 into different folders so when the status 7 error popped up I was able to load the CM10.2 instead just fine. Looks like we need a direct link for the 3 files from goo.im instead of a link to a page that has the link on it to some other link :silly:
