mate, i havnt got a clue, i just followed the steps and it didnt work

no idea what i need now, im in the EMMC booter thingy, just need to know what zips to download to install kitkat, i guess CM11, i tried a nightly one tho and it didnt work either, error 7...
If you're not booting into CWM recovery, it sounds like your microSD card is not setup correctly. You have to write (not just copy) the CWM ovation file to the card, and it needs to be a class 4 card. Those two things are key.

So zip install of CWM worked, but then followed by trying zip install of ROM, and error? That sounds like a bad download of the ROM.
well ive tried the unofficial one and a nightly one, neither worked, both error 7, so its not the download, but something else...

If you pull the SD card out and boot, does it go to stock ROM, bootloop, or what?
boot loops for a while but eventually goes into the EMMC recovery

@craichead See what I mean by finicky? lol. Both the charger and SD cards can prevent power on and booting.

So, I did some digging around for Status 7 issues and I've modified this ROM cm-11-20140129-NIGHTLY-ovation Status 7 fixed.zip so that it should install without the Status 7 error. If one of you wants to try it. Alternatively, you can modify the ROM of your choice by following this Guide

Note: To dowload the files from my links just click the link in my post, then click the SAVE ALL button on the dowload page. Clicking the file name is for previewing (for security) or dowloading files from within the folder. I use Copy.com online storage and my files ARE the exact same as if you downloaded them from their original source.
Jeremy, any chance you could reupload ? I think this is what I need but no longer seems to be there...

Thanks

Look at this thread. http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/85981-any-word-on-cm11-yet/ Your problem may be an invalid version of CWM for that ROM which is still occupying the boot partition on your SD card. Delete all partitions on the card and start over. You can't just reformat the card (would be easier), but you have to use the partition app to totally blow away partitions. I hope that makes sense.

Well I just used the ones quoted in the thread other people have succeeded with so I don't know why it won't work

Can you link me to the files I need as I'm pretty sure by now I've tried then all, this is driving me up the wall

I think whatever files you choose are fine as long as they are all from one thread. But at this point you should go back to square one by using Win32 Disk Imager (http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/?source=directory), or equivalent, and wipe your SD card using your PC. To get it effectively wiped, you need to make sure when done that you only have one partition on the card, and it should be equivalent in size to the storage capacity of the card. If you see two or more partitions in DiskImager, that means it's not ready. Delete partitions until you just have one, and resize it to the max size available. Then reformat that partition to get totally clean.

After all that, use your downloaded files and write the *.img file (unzipped of course) to your freshly partitioned and formatted card, copy the recovery, ROM, and Gapps files, and give things a whirl.

I cleaned my online storage and forgot that I had linked to some files, sorry about that. Hope this helps, but also, make sure your recovery is the latest version.

Will CWM not let you select 'external SD card' for 'install zip'?
