I was just wondering, what's really the difference between GingerBlur and GreyBlur? They appear to be made by the same person, and in the screenshots they seem to function mostly the same...It just looks like they're kind of themed differently.

Haha perfect thanks! So gingerblur says it's based on the android gingerbread, so then basically greyblur really is too? That's the answer![]()
Well, the THEME is based on gingerbread. It's not really anything close to real gingerbread. It has a few of the gingerbread apps in it, but that's it.Haha perfect thanks! So gingerblur says it's based on the android gingerbread, so then basically greyblur really is too?

I see, that makes sense. So do these ROMs sort of fix stupid things that Motoblur does, like do they let me customize the double click home settings to any app?Well, the THEME is based on gingerbread. Some of them, not that specifically. I've been looking into a method that lets us do that.I see, that makes sense. So do these ROMs sort of fix stupid things that Motoblur does, like do they let me customize the double click home settings to any app?
Oh that's unfortunate. Good luck with that though, you'd make a lot of people happy when that's done! Haha. Thanks for all your help though! Some of them, not that specifically. I've been looking into a method that lets us do that.
Sorry, been out of the loop for a while ... so forgive me if this is has been asked, but why shouldn't SuperOneClick be used on the Atrix? I've rooted my atrix 3 or 4 times with it ... but none since the "Malware epidemic".You can try GladRoot. If it works, it works, if it doesn't, it doesn't and there's no other way of getting root right now. SuperOneClick, for the hundred thousandth time, should not be used on an Atrix.
I believe it is because SuperOneClick makes a mess of the root process because it installs busybox while the atrix already has it installed.Sorry, been out of the loop for a while ... so forgive me if this is has been asked, but why shouldn't SuperOneClick be used on the Atrix? designgears said:My most recent brick was mostly caused by having busybox installed and symlinked twice. Busybox is already included on the phone stock, oneclickroot installs and symlinks it again in the /system/xbin directory. This is messy and can cause problems. I created this script to simply use what is there, only adding what is needed for a nice neat clean setup.
That's correct. There's nothing wrong with SuperOneClick itself, and on any other phone I'd certainly recommend it. But for this specific device, it's a bad option. I've attempted the contact the developer about the issue, but he's so far not responded to me.I believe it is because SuperOneClick makes a mess of the root process because it installs busybox while the atrix already has it installed.
Oh, that's just too bad :/ I'd think the dev would be on top of this. Just imagine how many people that used SOC and didn't know about the busybox issue, lol. Hopefully people that root check XDA often >_>;;;That's correct. There's nothing wrong with SuperOneClick itself, and on any other phone I'd certainly recommend it. Unlocking and rooting are indeed separate. Updating first post with a few good questions I've seen since my last update.Do I need to unlock before rooting? or are the two completely independent from eachother?
Unfortunately, I do not support GingerBlur, you'll have to go to the thread in the developer section and post your question there.Apologize if this isn't the appropriate thread for this post--looked like a misc question/issue thread. . .
Anyway, ever since I updated to GB2.5 last night my fingerprint scanner has become 100% unresponsive. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to reintialize it?
You should be able to reply to threads, just not create them I think? Maybe not, not 100% on that sorry.Yeah I wanted to/tried to but I only have 2 (now 3!) posts and can't post there yet--sigh. . .
1. Sure, check the general android section for advice with theming. I don't do any myself.Hey guys I have 3 questions:
1. Is it possible to theme the gingerbread keyboard that I flashed recently? That orange is awful..
2. How do I get the HDMI mirroring hack (came with greyblur) to work? When I open the app nothing happens after it asks for superuser rights twice. The webtop and entertainment center work (minus the video problem but that's fine)
3. I made a tenfars backup a while ago, but I just went to the folder to look at it and there's no. zip file in there? Does tenfars use some other file type for backups?

Nope. Deodexed counts as a modified system and the update will fail. Restoring a nandroid backup before you deodexed should work just fine.Would I be able to apply a OTA update to my phone if it just deodexed and but with no ROM installed (so no hacks or anyting) or will a clean sbf flash be required? Or if I made a nandroid back up of my system before deodexing could i restore that, and then run an OTA update?
Cool thanks man! So the HDMI mod is just buggy in and of itself? Maybe I should just stick to webtop.. I just wish I could use the phone like normal instead of like a mouse1. Sure, check the general android section for advice with theming. I don't do any myself.
2. Are you enabling it in the app? You have to check the box before plugging HDMI cable in. It's buggy at best, and seems to break webtop.
3. It creates a backup in a folder called clockworkmod on the SD card you chose when you made it, either internal or external.
