Very awesome, I'll add it to the front page. Do you mind if I mirror the link?

Omega2513, could you please add a note about which version these images are for? I'd like to get my hands on a 4.3 image (for any model of GS4 mini) so I can grab the blobs out of it and see if they make any difference to CyanogenMod 10.2.

Or has someone out there already pulled the blobs from 4.3?

Thanks!

The latest Koodo stock firmware is 4.2.2 (I257MVLUAMK5). I suppose it is the same for all canadian providers.

I think there is currently no s4 mini 4.3 firmware anywhere in the world (see sammobile and others). The news was spreaded because of an unclear article from MobileSyrup :
http://mobilesyrup.com/2013/11/20/b...r-23rd-also-brings-galaxy-gear-compatibility/.

The MK5 firmware version is not a upgrade to 4.3 but an update of 4.2.2. It's unclear to me that 4.3 is planned for canadian s4 mini...& others.

Actually, I see now that you're right. The MobileSyrup post was picked up and widely re-reported, and I've read several message threads that looked like some GS4 minis were actually getting a 4.3 update. I see now that I wasn't reading it right (wishful thinking? :) )

It would probably be a good thing for some of those sites to publish a clarification, because there seems to be more people than just me who are confused!

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Hi, Can anybody help me?

1. I bought a Samsung s4 mini SGH-I257M, locked by Telus.
2. I tried install super root, but each time it tried to launch the application, a shield from up-left corner will block it to run.
3. I asked a mobile shop unlocked for me with Z3X, but the sim card cannot be registered (the sim card is not from Telus.) Every time when the phone try to register the sim card to network, there is a small shield icon will shows in the up-left corner and blocks it.
4 After two days, I went to the shop and got my phone back. I rooted my phone with Root Dashi, a chinese root software. It works! I inserted a Fido sim, the shield no longer there, but I still cannot register my phone to the network. Any idea?

Sorry for my English.

For some reason my phone is stuck on the Samsung boot logo after this. The reason I tried in the first place was because of a bootloop, but this back up doesn't seem to work because I am still stuck at the Samsung logo. And after a while, little colored dots start to appear on the screen.

Hi guys,
My first post. Obvious noob here... I thought I successfully rooted my SGH-i257M using the Odin method and the Root Checker confirmed that (i.e. root valid, bussybox installed, SuperSU etc). My problem is that I was able to access CWM only once, right after Odin finished writing the data to the phone and the phone rebooted. After that, every time I used VolumeUP/Home combination, the phone enters into the "stock Samsung recovery" - i.e. not CWM. The CWM is still there (I suppose) and its folder is there as well. The part that sucks is that I was hoping to install Cyanogenmod 10.2, but again, without being able to access CWM I cannot do that.

Long story short, I re-flashed the phone back to the stock Rogers ROM and am planning to root it again and see if this helps, but before doing so, I thought I'd check if perhaps I was doing something wrong... I guess one should be able to access CWM at every boot, right?

Another weird thing (that makes me think that something went wrong during the first rooting procedure) is that I wasn't able to run Titanium Backup. SuperSU or SuperUser were never asked for root and the TB always got stuck on the boot screen...

Anyways, any info or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I rooted with CWM, and restored with the Rogers backup, but my phone is still not work. It says network (Chatr) unavailable. When I try to dial a number, it says "not registered on network"
That is an issue with chatr. Either the sim isn't registered to your account, or something else went wrong on their end

Ok so if im reading this right. If I use the sv rootkit v1 with the correct cwm version will I be able to still root my phome? Ive tried rooting once using this method and cwm flashes properly and sv root kit installs but im not getting root status in root checker. Im running the new mk5 update could that be my issue?

Yea. The new mk5 update stops root.

Actually, the SGH-I257M and GT-I9195 are pretty much identical in every way. Unlike the US carriers, the Canadian ones didn't see the need to go about and change everything on it. :)

The recovery and ROM's for the 9195 should work just fine on it. The only thing is that the model number will be set as GT-I9195. However, in latest CM11 nightlies I've added a routine which will identify which variant it is, and it will set the model number accordingly.
