STOCK and ROOTED SGH-I257M

Actually, the SGH-I257M and GT-I9195 are pretty much identical in every way. Unlike the US carriers, the Canadian ones didn't see the need to go about and change everything on it.

The recovery and ROM's for the 9195 should work just fine on it. The only thing is that the model number will be set as GT-I9195. However, in latest CM11 nightlies I've added a routine which will identify which variant it is, and it will set the model number accordingly.

I was wondering if I could flash your ROM and it worked beautifully! After following both your posts, first the flashing of cwm and then installing CM11 for gt-i9195 my phone no longer has battery drain issues and runs extremely smooth.

I'm going to post exactly how I did it for any new users of this phone so there is a CLEAR thread for newbs like me

custom rom for s4 mini sgh-1257m

hello guys i am new here....i have rooted my s4 mini sgh-1257m with CF-Auto-Root-serrano3g-serrano3gub-gti9190.tar.m and i wanted to flash a custom rom onto my phone i went to get.cm and installed the app and when i launch it it says my device is not supported is there any other custom roms i can use or how can i get the cyanogenmod to work with my phone?

I wish someone took over it to make it rooted. If you really was able to extract them, try to throw them around major roots threads as well(like cf-autoroot thread) along with baseband and some other info, and see if there is any luck from there. Geo was about to make a root for ATT but was hired for google tho

You originally indicated in another thread that you rooted your I257, but have never replied to any request regarding how you achieved root. Can you please give any details on how you got root.

I have canadian fido 4.2.2. rom for SGH-I257M (canadian fido SGH-I257M with LTE; android 4.2.2; baseband version 1257MVLUAMK5; IC 649E-GTI9195L). It dont have polish language. Can I do something to have polish language and root phone?

You said it is the same as 9195, can i install official polish rom for 9195? Or it will brick my phone? Or can I install other modded rom with polish language? Can you help me with advice?
