I'm experiencing an issue that's tied to Sytem UI apk which I assume is part of the system partition. Is there a way for me to only flash the system partition? My recovery is screwy from an earlier issue so I might want to try that as well. Can I selectively flash partitions, and if so, would I be able to do that without causing problems and conflicts?

You can reflash the firmware but use the home csc file and you won't loose your data and apps. This should solve your problem.

Hi guys,

First of thanks for this form. This has been a great help in my time of need when my phone is being stupid.

So I wanted to see if anyone else is having issues like me. When I first got my S7 Edge with verizon, I had the stock OTA version and i just simply rooted the phone. Same steps as it is listed on this form.

A day or two later, my apps started timing out and erroring out and nothing was working. So I rebooted my phone and same issue, the phone was useless, I could get into the phone but no app would work on internet would work.

So then I did phone reset on the OS, little did I know that I cant do that as it was rooted so got that stupid error. I started to freak out lol

So I learned more and was able to load the U version listed on this form. Today after a day or so of use, I started to have the same dam issue. i followed this guide and another guide below and rebooted multiple times. Everything worked great but after a full day of use it started to do the same thing. Where apps where erroring out and not working. So I rebooted again and boom. The phone would not load and got stuck at the samsung screen when it first loads. It just stayed there for a hr and did some vibration here and there but would not go past it. I did cache wipe and could load in recovery mode and no luck.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...de-flashing-sm-935u-firmware-verizon-t3415145

So I am back again to reset the phone to stock based on this guide and using the U version.

Can anyone share if they have had similar experiences or is mine just a special case? What am i doing wrong? I have rooted and flashed my older galaxy phones but this s7 is being a pain and not very reliable so far for me.

Please advise. Thx.

i never rooted my phone, I've had it since launch and recently discovered this U firmware, loaded in maybe 10 days ago and it's been pretty solid, no issues yet.

Thx for the feedback.

So the main reason I want root is to do titanium backup and wifi tether via cell plan.

Also wanted to use Greenify to get extra power saving feature.

Can i get these items without root?

I know foxfi was working for wifi but I'm not sure if it still dose. Greenify works without root but you need to use the paid version. I prefer my phone not rooted because the eng kernel kills performance way too much. It's just not worth it.

oh no...

Hello,

Odin reports: <ID:0/005> Re-Partition operation failed.
Phone reports: SECURE CHECK FAIL : PIT

Is there any hope for me?

Thanks,

David

So I rooted my verizon s7 edge and it didn't work. After factory reset it showed custom and an open lock on startup. After trying to root again and failing I factory reset and the custom and lock were gone and all is good but every time the lock screen is on it says roaming indicator off and if I look with advanced signal status it says carrier: roaming indicator off. Help me fix this please
Also I do not have Lte anymore. Just 4g

I would reinstall the newest firmware in post 1 for Verizon or Post 2 for Verizon or any other carrier. Just follow the directions in the OP and you should be fine. A factory reset after Odin wouldn't hurt either.

Hey guys. So I am trying to get PH1 loaded using Odin. I am having an issue when trying to load the AP into Odin it's causing a Not Responding in Odin. Any ideas or help would be great. Also when loading these files into Odin is the device suppose to be connected or after they are loaded? I was using Odin 3.11.1 the downgraded thinking it would help but no its not

EDIT: So I think I got it

No, you need root to apply the fixes. But unlocked works fine without the fixes.
